A. B. Fowler, Heardville, Ga. A Tribute of Love. I On the morning of April 21st 1917, the death angel came in to our home and gently bore away the spirit of my mother, Mrs. P. D. Brown. Quietly, peacefully and glad ! ly she responded to the Mas ter’s touch, and went away to be at rest in the home of our Father’s many mansions. The last few years of her life were spent in suffering, more especi ally the last few months, but she seemed not to think of her self always afraid that others would do too much for her. Her life was one of self-sac rifice and service for her home and family, and how desolate home seems without her words of advise and sympathy. In after years we may have some friends that will love us, but there’s none that will love us like our mother. The sweetest happiest days of my life have been spent at home with her, and often in childhood days I remember how she would tell me of Jesus, and I am made to realize that a mother’s love is next to our Savior’s, and to Him alone can we look to for comfort in our lonely hours, for He has said, “my grace is sufficient for every grief and sorrow.” We realize also that time is fleeting, and that we too, shall soon be called to make the change, . What comfort it brings us to know our loved one is not lost, but just gone before How their spirits hover around us bidding us look far beyond earth and earthly things to a fairer, brighter, world where neither sorrow nor death can enter. Heaven seems nearer, and grows more attractive, as we think of our loved ones who dwell f thote, and if we are faith ful a short while, as it seems, we will see them again. Tho’ our mother has gone from us, we cherish her memo ry, and may we, as her children try to emulate her Christian ex ample and at last be at home with mother in heaven. There is no death! The leav es may fall, the flowers may fade and pass away; they only wait thru wintry hours the com ing of the May. There is no death! an angel form, walks o’er the earth with silent tread: he bears our best loved things away and then we call them dead. He leaves our hearts all des olate, He plucks our fairest, sweetest flowers; and bears them to that world of light, to dwell in Paradise. Maymie E.
