Allen was in Atlan ta on business a day or two of last week. Rev. F. T. Wills filled his ap pointment at Norcross Sunday. Mr. Thad Burruss and fami ly spent Sunday with his father von route 4. Mr. Claude Groover has been appointed Game Warden for this county, and is now ready to sell you hunting license. The many friends of Mr. R. W. Shadburn of Buford will be glad to learn that he is improv ing rapidly. Mr. Clarence Allen of Gaines ville sdtent Friday and Saturday with Mr. M. A. Nuckolls and | family. Mr. Wesley Estes of Dora~> ville was shaking hands with fri'ends here one day last week Mr. T. J. Pirkle is making several improvements on his barn and dwelling. Mr. A. J. Bryant of Texas is spending awhile with relatives in the county. Mr. F. G. Roberts of Cordele spent the week end with his family in town. Mr. J. W. Walker of Cham blee spent Saturday night and Sunday with relatives here. You will find a list of the prize winners at the county fair in another column. Look it up. Mr. Eli Davis and wife of rt. 5 were visitors to Mr. T. F. Da vis and family Sunday. We are glad to say that the little child of Mr. A. C. Kenne more, who has had fever, is im proving very rapdly. Mr. J. L. Wallis, formerly of this county, but now of Cordele has- been shaking hands with his friends here for a few days. We are receiving quite a lot of new subscribers, as well as a large number of renewals, for which we are thankful. Mr. Mike Wilbanks has return ed from South Georgia, and re ports some good business in the wiregrass region. Mrs. E. F. Smith and daugh ter, Miss Ophie, have been vis iting relatives n Atlanta for a few days. Mr. Q. R. Williams left Sat urday for Henry county where he has accepted a school for an other year. Messrs. J. H. Burruss, Toy McAfee, and Jack Montgomery of Camp Wheeler, came up and spent Sunday with homefolks. Mr.— Stephens of Gaines ville, formerly of this county, is here this week, with a view of movng back to this place to make his future home. Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Grover and Mr. W. N. Poole and fam ily went to Atlanta Sunday to hear Billy Sunday preach, and report a mighty fine sermon. You will find the appoint ments of the North Georgia Conference, so far as they re late to th;3 cection, in the pa per this week. Better come at once as the supply is limited. Rev. J. W. Gober returned! from annual conference Wed nesday. It wlil be gratifying news to the people of this cir cuit to know that he has been! sent back for another year. Mrs. J. >l. We are having some trouble in the delivery of the News on route 2 from Suwanee. This paper is mailed to these sub scribers on Thursday afternoon and it ought to reach them Fri day without fail. Mr. J. 11. Sorrells died at his home on route 3 Monday night, and his remains were laid away at Brookwoed Tuesday. He vas about -15 years of age, me* is survived by a wife and sev eral children, to whom we ex tend sympathy vi rs. J .sie Haye3 of Barretts ville visited Mrs. M. C. Jackson a day or two last week. To the citizens of Forsyth Cos.: At a mass meeting held at the court house on last Sunday in behalf of the Young* Men's Christian Association campaign as regards our army, a commit tee of twelve Forsyth county men were chosen as a canvass ing commit *.oe to solicit funds for the army Y. M. C. A. Now friends, there is no use, and this is not a time for waste of words or quibbling, but stop and simply consider., that the good morals and shaping of Christian manhood is at stake it is our boys- not someone we have i.cver heard of. The mon ey will be used in furnishing Christian services. It is For syth county boys that we are most concerned about. If you and I don’t show an interest in them- then to whom shall they look? This appeal to you is not from an unknown stand point, we hope. We must work and contribute as well as pray for them. The county has been laid out !in routes, and within the next ; few days tw'o of the men chosen for the work will call on you 1 and explain the matter fully, so be considering it until they can come. This is not for my protection but yours. I have pledged myself to discharge the duties of the office to the best of my ability. Of course i o ore w. ,ai blame me if they were to violate the game or fish laws, and I was to learn of it and prosecute them for so do ing. Since lam sworn to pros ecute all violations which f may learn of, I would • advise persons to be careful to comply with the law. If it was the fi nancial side of the position I re gardecl most, I would not ad vise any one to procure a li cense, for more than likely one or two cases prosecuted would pay me more than all my com missions during the entire sea son on license sold. Please do not overlook th's matter. County license are $l, each. On the back of each li cence’are the dates relative to the open season as to all game also the bag limit.
