make the bank an efficient officer.
Singleton-Wallis.
Our old friend, Marvin Wallis,
has proven to us beyond a doubt
that ‘'Love is a tickling sensation
that can not be scratched.”
Although he has been drafted
into ‘he army, and liable to be
called to Ihe camps just any day,
he hiked ’em up to South Caroli
na Christmas day and he and
Miss Vinnie Singleton were hap
pily married at the home of the
bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs, J.
E, Singletou.
Here’s wishing them a long,
h ppy and prosperous life.

the Ordinaries of the counties of
Milton and Forsvth will have in
charge the financial end of the

this road constructed as it would
give our people a first class high

state, and which is without rail
road facilities,
Fifth Wheel Broke
While driving his horse at an
‘association’ gate on route 7. on
Tuesday of thi3 week the fifth
wheel broke, turning the buggy
over and giving the carrier, Tom
Davis, a heavy bump on his smell
ing apparatus.
As we listened to Tom relate
he story of the accident, some
how or other, or somehow else,
we couldn’t get our minds off oi
that passage of scripture which
reads, ‘‘Pride goeth before de
struction and a haughty spirit be
fore a fall,”
No Services Sunday
Owing to the cola weather and
the fact that the church had no
coal to warm up its members to
enjoy a sermon, there was no ser
vices at the Methodist church in
town Sunday.
There was no Sunday school at
either of the churches.
