It is also our duty to encour
age the officers of the county
to do their whole duty and not
criticise, except where there w
room for criticism. Officers who
sell out to the whiskey
should he impeached and pu
on the highways or m the Peni
tentiary, but we should be care
ful how we criticise ofiicers of

The General Assembly, just
adjourned made neccessary ap
propriations to pay all the pen.
sions that are due and unpaid
on all the rolls, both “old" and
“new”, with the increases for
11)20 and 1921.
The only provision made to
gel the money to make this pay
ment is by the sale of the rent
al of the State’s railroad tor 5
year,. The Governor believes
that he can make this sale *at
an early dale, and out of the
proceeds of the sale he will
pay all the unpaid pensions,
both “old” and “new”, includ
ing the increases for 1920 and
j 1921.
Just, when this money can be
turned into the State Treasury
to make the payments we can
