Mr. C. F. Matthews, Ass’t General Sales Manager,
Norfolk, Va.
Dear Mr. Matthew-:
It is hardly to be expected that men mean and understand all
they say, yet we hear so many times that two fertilizers of the
same analysis must be just the same in quality and production.
HenVock sawdust by test shows more actual portein than corn
ensilage, according to analysis. Following this theory, a farmer fed
sawdust to his hens, and from one setting of eggs hatched out eight
roosters with wooden legs, two woodpeckers, and three knot holes.
There is just as much sense and humor to this chicken story
as there is to the argument that the. same analysis has the same
producing qualities.
The difference between twe men of the same analysis -- each
weighs 167 pounds and each is 4-8-10 - is that one produces for his
family comforts $15,000. a year and the other $1,500.
The engineer on the Twentieth Century Limited carries a
Hamilton Watch - Ingersoll makes a good watch too.
Henry Ford drives a car after his own name- he also has a
Lincoln.
There is more to a fertilizer than its analysis. Sawdust, men
watches, automobiles ana fertilizer may look alike, but no dealer or
farmer will get any more out of a product than the manufacturer
puts into it. A product is worth exactly what it can do for you
not what you pay for it. Quality is built into every pound of Roys
ter’s fertilizer and carries the crop to maturity - not a stimulant for
a short time but'a real lasting plant food.
