Mrs. Orson D. Munn
NEW YORK —Anew Bundles for
Britain hat created by Robert Dud
ley. one of New York’s foremost
designers, is being distributed to
department and retail stores over
the nation, following its recent in
troduction in New York. It will soon
be sold from coast to coast, a per
centage of every sale being devoted
to the Bundles for Britain fund. I
Originally modeled by Mrs. Orson
D. Munn, of New York, one of
America's best dressed women, the
hat has created a vogue in the smart j
-ircles of the Eastern United States, j
Exciting developments are expected
when it reaches Hollywood, where
several motion picture stars will
model f it before the cameras. Bess'
Johnson, prominent young radio!
actress, and June Havoc, star of the ,
Broadway hit. “Pal Joey,” are among
the celebrities who are wearing this
newest creation.
The Bundles for Britain hat is a
turban made entirely of wool yarn,
with an adjustable mesh back which
ties to fit the head. The crowning
feature is a tiny, detachable celo
phane hat box on top of the turban,
which holds a ball of knitting yam,
a strand of which hangs at the side.
Two red, white and blue needles are
stuck through the body of the tur
ban. Using these and the wool from
the celophane box, the wearer may
knit right from her hat. The new
creation is available in red, white
and air-force blue.
