HOLBROOK SCOUTS
ENJOY CAMP
Early Monday morning twenty sev
en boys and leaders left Lathem store
for Camp Glisson near Dahlonega for
a week at camp. The trip up was un
eventful and camp was made soon
upon reaching their destination. The
first activity was cleaning up the
camp and preparing the sleeping quar
ters.
Soon after a picnic lunch at Logana
lunch room, a swimming period was
very enjoyable. The first day was
spent getting acquainted with the
grounds and preparing for the week.
Tuesday morning immediately after
revclce, the L ys were a'l up ready
for breakfast. Alter this inspection
was held by the troop leaders. Then
off for a 13 mile hike to Calhoun
mines near Dahlonega. It seemed that
some of the boys wouldn’t quite make
it because of the distance and because
of the heat but finally about 77 A. M.
it was reached. After looking at the
mines, they rode back on thT truck
which was waiting for them.
Wednesday morning was spent in
Patrols engaging in activity them
selves. Some went on hikes: some
fished while others worked on merit
badges. One of the high lights of the
entire camp was the camp fire after
supper each night. It was directed by
three of the Canton Scouts, Jimmie
McCannless, Sam Bridges, Jr., and J.
T. Holbrook, Jr. They did a fine job.
Swimming each day in the lake
was also very refreshing. Some boys
improved in their swimming, while
all were carefully watched by the
life guard, John Heard.
A trip to Lake Winfield Scott was
very enjoyable by the troop. On the
way all got off the truck and hiked
tip to the top of one of the high points
in Georgia.

THREE LOVELY HEADLINES

TJEHE are three lovely headlines
*■ which are going to get them
selves Into the fashion news this
summer. They show what wonders
can be wrought with shining lus
trous hair no matter what the color,
texture or the age of its owner.
Note the upward swing of all
three hair-do’s, which is for cool
ness sake, of course. You’ll also
mark the hint of modified pompa
dour in each, though it be only in
the soft roll of the natural blonde,
the group of curls in the chestnut
hair and the single little front curl
on the dimpled brunette.
All three heads, however, have
one outstanding virtue in common
gorgeous lustre that highlights
every hair. These ladies are fervent
users of Drene, that remarkable
liquid soapless shampoo which
turns drab locks into thrillingly lus
trous hair and nnkes a glamour
girl of even the r ’~iest individual.
Take another tiose look at the
pictures and you’ll see what we
mean. These heads are alive with
health, and we just know their
tresses have been well and vigor
ously brushed before shampooing.
Then a few drops of the soapless
shampoo which comes for oily, or
dry hair, a hearty massage with the

finger tips, rinsing (at least two,
depending on how much is used)
and these entirely different types
of heads emerge with 33 per cent
more lustre than they’ve ever had
before, and with all the previously
hidden highlights shining in full
glory.
Keep your hair clean this sim

you are bound to look as cool and
radiant as these glamour girls, who
know that It is lustre first, then
style. With the hair experts busy as
bees thinking up new coiffures, It’s
up to the girls to keep their hair
manageable, and grimy locks that
cling together In ugly strands or
frizzy wisps are never that.
