Goodyear Announces
Four New Tires
Four major product changes in its
line of off the road tires for use in
rugged service of construction and
earth moving jobs, pacing the increas
ed demand for big equipment in ail
phases preliminary to national de
fense projects, are announced by The
Goodyear Ti>-e & Rubber Company
The four new tires in its line are:
anew Eartli Mover All-Weather tread
Row Pressure Sure. Grip grader, Hard
Rock lug and the ML Logger tire,
each designed for a specific task.
Standing nearly as tall as a man,
the Earth Mover All-Weather in 24.00
32 size has a thicker tread upon
which are larger non-skid buttons,
whose design is carried nearly half
way down the tire’s sidewall. The
Earth Mover makes it possible for
contractors to handle not only sand
and soft dirt, but also shale and solid
rock blastings with self loading scrap
ere, because the tire equipment is
r.ow better armored and able to under
go terrific punishment.
The new tire’s flotation, resistance
to side slip and abaility to clean itself
have all been improved by the extra
size, extra strength and alignment of
its diamond button design. Button
edges have been rounded to reduce
snagging and chipping. New design
Earth Movers are available in 14.00-20
16.00—20, 18.00—24, 21.00—24 and
24.00 32 sizes.
Redesigned to put more effective
tower behind the grader blade, the
company’s ’Low Pressure Sure Grip
grader tire has a disconnected bar
type tread that delivers an extra 50
percent traction, with no appreciable
difference in rolling ability over the
previous design. Sizes of the new
Sure Grip grader: 9.00—24, 12.00—24
13.00—24, 14.00—20, 10.00—24 and
13.00—20. The new type tread greatly
improves the tire’s traction in reverse
important factor in some kinds of
work for wwhich new attachments to
late model graders have been design
ed.
With flatter tread, whose bars are
50 percent wider than on former tires
the new Hard Rock Lug has also
greater protection against cutting and
body injury over all its contact sur
faces. This is the outstanding tire for
rock excavation work, strip mines and
other operations where cutting haz
ards are great.
Continuous rib around the new ML
Logger’s iread provides operation and
increases its ability to give longer
mileage on hard-surfaced roads. Made
of high quality, low stretch Super
twist cord with multiple compounding
and latest improved double core beads
and tie-in, it is also well suited to
service off the highway.

MeETING in Savannah recently,
a representative gathering of beer retailers declared
themselves “fully aware of the improved conditions”
resulting from this Committee’s Clean Up or Close Up
program—asserted that “this effort has won the respect
of the people of Georgia and the vast majority of retail
beer dealers in the state”—and pledged their complete
support to the Committee's continued activity.
This Committee — and the law-abiding beer retailer—
ask your cooperation, too, in weeding out the comparative
ly few disreputable “black sheep” who use their legal beer
licenses to mask disorder and undesirable conditions.
Do not patronize such places. If yon buy beer, buy it
only from cleanly operated, orderly establishments.
