UWELY HAIR RATES HIGH
ON GLAMOUR SCORE CARD
There's a man shortage as well
as a houaing shortage, population
experts say-so clever girls will
miss no trick's in watching all the
various personality factors which
wake for charm.
Women have known from the
time of Eve what the poets later
proclaimed, that "fair tresses man’s
imperial race ensnare, and beauty
draws us with a single hair.” Like
the girl in the photograph, women
who are making modern history
take care that their hair is always
smartly groomed.
, But not even the loveliest hairdo
looks really charming unless hair
is healthy and well cared for. Fif
teen brief minutes a day—but regu
larly—for faithful brushing and
gentle scalp massage will do won
ders in bringing out the natural
sheen of the hair. Immaculate
cleanliness is another cardinal j
point. Jtegular care means sham
poos, too but the right kind of
shampoos. Beautiful hair deserves
gentle treatment. Harsh soaps may
dry and dull the hair. Established
hair experts usually recommend a
mild liquid shampoo, such as

ployers have been bullied Into agree
ments which deprive all citizens, ex
cept those named by the union, of
the right to work and earn a living.
Thus the leaders have acquired the
right to hire and fire. They have held
union members In line by threats of
suspension or outright loss of their
Jobs. Numerous Instances of the sup
pression of free and democratic elec
tions within the unions have been
reported, with one union going so
far as to ask legislative relief after
members had been denied for six
years the right to vote on their offi
cers. Like ClO’s'Karris in Arkansas,
the leaders have spurned the lasts
of the states and the nation by open
ly admitting tactics contrary to the
law. The Ft. Bmith, Arkansas, Times
Record summed up Harris’ meeting
In Arkansas as "a school on how to
break the law.” (
Closed shop advocates claim they
have acted In the name of democ
racy for the workingmen, yet they
have exacted exhorbltant fees for the
privilege of working. Thurman Ar
nold reported numerous esses In
"labor’s Hidden Holdup Men” of
fees ranging as high as SISOO for the
privilege of working. The worker, hav
ing paid such a fee, finds himself In
the position of acquiescing In the
policies of his leaders or being dis
