MHk^: a . : MmSM* •••:
Cute in cotton is the v/ord for
pretty Paulette Goddard, Para
mount starr, who wears one of her
1947 cotton favorites. The low cut

pushed-up sleeves add interest to
the design which is done ia soft
blue cotton crash.

The USS Macon, one of the several ships of the United States Navy
assigned to the expanding training program for veterans and non-vet
erans of the Naval Reserve, takes a wave over the bow on one of the
two-week training cruises. Reservists from many Naval Districts take
a fortnight out of their civilian life to keep themselves abreast of mod
ern Naval developments by means of the active duty cruises of such

THE ATLANTA CONSTITUTION
T° p 79 Year* a Georgia Newspaper—Georgia Owned and Georgia Edited
Thursday, May 15, 1947.
And we do bless them,
with all our hearts, because
Georgia women really ap
preciate The Constitution . . .
daily and Sunday, and what a
good buy it is. Quick in realizing
the value of n few cents well
spent, the ladies know that in
no othe:r newspaper ran they get
such wonderfully entertaining
and informative features as in
The Constitution.
There’s the American Weekly
every Sunday, a complete, excit
ing magazine good for hours of
fascinating read in g—tliere’re
many, many comics, highest
rated in the nation (for,grown
ups and kids too) and columns
of suggestions for better health
and greater beauty . . . and also
. . . styles and fashions illustrated
for every poekethook. And the
younger "iris like Elizabeth
VooiTwarl’r tipe on hell*’vior ...
because she's snazzy and not a
drip.
You can trust the good judgment
of Mother, Wife and Sweetheart.
They know! That’s why we say
again, TO THE LADIES ... . who
find thrills and pleasure reading
the newspaper designed to appeal
to the fairest sex.
