New Research Discovery Promises Increased Poultry Profits
NiCarb&ziu is an entirely new chemical developed by Merck
specifically for the prevention of eoccidiosis outbreaks in chickens.
It is more effective than any other coccidiostat now used for
continuous preventive feeding. NiCarbazin encourages better
growth and superior feed efficiency which means greater returns
for you.
KILLS COCCIDIA FAST
NiCarbazin hits all damaging coccidia hard, at an early stage of
their life cycle. It destroys the parasites before they extensively
injure the walls of the ceca and intestines. This protection of the
gut is so complete that birds on NiCarbazin feeds do not have
bloody droppings. At the same time, NiCarbazin permits the
normal development of immunity in exposed birds.
CUTS DEATH LOSSES
TO ZERO
During extensive use in the field,
against both cecal and intestinal
coccidiosis, NiCarbazin at pre
ventive levels has cut mortality
to zero. These remarkable results
have been obtained even when
deaths in untreated lots were as
high as 60 per cent.
ELIMINATES MORBIDITY (Tissue Damage)
Internal damage due to intestinal coccidiosis interferes with feed
utilization and means unthrifty, low-quality birds. NiCarbazin
eliminates this type of profit-stealing damage. For example, in
one large field trial, signs of intestinal coccidiosis were found in
28 per cent of untreated birds. But not one of the 12,800 birds that
received NiCarbazin showed evidence of coccidiosis damage.
Used as recommended, NiCarbazin provides complete protection against all damaging
types of coccidia. Ask your feed supplier today for feeds containing NiCarbazin.

PERMITS
SUPERIOR GROWTH
Superior growth is another
benefit from NiCarbazin. At
marketing time, NiCarbazin
fed birds have weighed 5 to
6 per cent more than un
treated birds.
INCREASES FEED EFFICIENCY
By preventing intestinal damage, NiCarbazin promotes improved
feed utilization. For instance, a lot of untreated birds required
3.0 pounds of feed per pound of gain, while birds on NiCarbazin
needed only 2.8 pounds.
BETTER OVER-ALL PROFITS
Because they are protected completely against all damaging
coccidia, NiCarbazin-fed broilers are heavier, show finer finish,
and bring premium prices. In one commercial trial involving
32,000 broilers, the profit over feed costs (including the cost of
NiCarbazin) was $137.20 extra per 1,000 birds. Extra profits like
these are typical in exposed flocks fed NiCarbazin. These trials
have proved that the greater the exposure to coccidiosis, the
greater is the return over feed cost when birds receive NiCarbazin.
SEE YOUR FEED SUPPLIER TODAY
NiCarbazin already is available in poultry feeds of some leading
manufacturers. Additional brands are expected to be on the
market shortly. These feeds Eire intended for a program of con
tinuous prevention. They should be given from the time the
chicks are placed on litter until four days before the broilers Eire
ready for market.
