Otis Hurt in Atlanta Sunday. Mr.
Hurt continues to be a patient at
the Veterans Hospital, but is allow
ed to spend a few days at his home
occasionally.
Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt Brooks and
family from Matt and Miss Bonnie
Britt of Sandy Springs have just
returned from a trip to Florida.
They visited Panama City, Wacula
Springs, and Tallahassee. On the
trip Mr. Brooks caught about 35
pounds of fish on deep sea fishing
trip.

Miss Iraogene Wallis, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wallis, became
the bride of Mr. Wuyne Satterfield
son of Mr. and Mrs. H. V’. Satter
field, Sr., on June 25 at Mt. Pisgah
Baptist Church. Reverend Paul
Thompson officiating..
Miss Peggy Wallis was her sis
ter’s maid of honor. The brides
maids were Miss Joyce Pruitt of
Alpharetta and Mrs. Shirley Mon
roe of Atlanta, cousins of the bride
Little Ann Wallis was flower girl.
Jimmy Satterfield served as his
brother’s beest man. Usher-grooms
men were Bobby Wallis and Ed
ward Wallis.
The bride wore ballerina length
dress of white three tiered net over
Satin. Her finger-tip length veil of
illusion was gathered to a crown
of orange blossoms. She carried a
bouquet of orchids.
The church was beautifully de
corated for the ceremony (the first
to be held there). The altar was
banked with green ferns, studded
with white and pink gladiolas to
complete the color scheme of the
bridal party.
Miss Joyce Wallis, cousin of the
bride presented the music for the
ceremony.
Following the ceremony the brid
es parents gave a reception at
their home.

after spending a 20 day leave with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. H.
Cantrell returned to his base in
Fort Dix, N. J. the 7th to be trans
ferred to the European area. He
volunteered for three years Octob
er 1, 1953, after taking his basic
at Camp Gordon he took training
in the Armoured Division and En
gineers at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.,
Camp Drum N. Y. and Ft. Dix, N.
J.

BASEBALL GAME
Tallant’s Vs. Matt
On Sunday afternoon, August 14,
a unique Baseball Game was play
at Matt Ball Diamond with a team
composed of all Tallant’s playing
the Matt Team. Koral lthe people
who remember Mr. T. S. Tallant,
it could be said that his boys and
relatives are still playing the game
he enjoyed so well, in which he
displayed such good sportsman
ship..
The game was a fast moving one
with the Tallant’s chalking up 24
runs to Matt’s 9. Pitching for the
Tallant’s were H. B. and Boot Tal
lant and their fast curves were
just too much for the Matt Team.
Those who composed the Tallant
team were: Ebb Tallant, Hill Tal
lant, Morris Tallant, Rade Tallant,
Anderson Tallant, Alford Tallant,
Harold Tallant, H. B. Tallant, Hoov
er Tallant and Boot Tallant.
The Matt Team used Spin Neis
ler and Homer Whitt as their hur
lers and the boys made a good
showing.

viously prepared balls of ice cream ... put well-filled bowls with several
choices of toppings on a table, and give every child a cone shell. Now,
show each youngster how to fill a cone by pressing open end onto a
ball, but leave the choice of a topping to eager youth! Such fun to

In advance: 1.) With an ice cream scoop, form balls of medium-hard
ice cream. Store in bowls, covered With foil, in freezer or freezer com
partment, until ready to use. 2.) Fill several small bowls with “top
pings listed above .. . with reserves at hand! 3.) Set up serving table
with a large bowl for holding empty cones. If you have a serving
basket for iced tea glasses, it makes a perfect holder. Put “tODDings'’

Thirty minutes before serving: 1.) Remove frozen ice cream balls from
freezer and leave, covered, at room temperature . . . take out only
enough for one serving for each guest. 2.) About thirty minutes before ‘

At serving time: 1.) Arrange ice cream balls in chilled bowl or platter.
