PIANO RECITALS
Mrs. R. A. Ingram will present
her pupils in two different recitals.
The first to be held Sunday Dec
ember 11, at 3 o’clock and Monday
evening December 12, at 8 o’clock.
The recitals will be held at the
Forsyth County High School. The

at Corinth Baptist Church Sunday
night December 11th at 7 o’clock.

ed the Congressional Banquet in
Atlanta at the Dinkler-Plaza Hotel
last Thursday honoring Georgia’s
Senators Walter F. George and
Richard B. Russell. Congressmen
Phil Landrum and other Congress
men of Georgia. Over 500 invited
_guest attended the banquet.

ding a brown suit with metallic
bronz accessories and her flower
was a white orchid.
After a short honeymoon to
Florida, the young couple will re
side at their home in Buford.

HONORED WITH SHOWER
Shirley Ann was honored at a
Lingerie Shower at her home on
Roswell Road in Atlanta, Novem
ber 22.
The home was beautifully decor
ated carrying the bridal colors and
the brides flower throughout.
Several games were enjoyed be
fore receiving the many lovely
gifts from her friends.
To bring the event to a close de
licious refreshments were served
by the hostess, Mrs. Marjorie
Mosley.

“MOBILIZATION” MEETING
This coming Saturday night, Dec
ember 10, at 7:30 p. m. the annual
Baptist Training Union “M-Night”
meeting for the Hightower Associa
tion will be held at the Sharon
Baptist Church.
A very interesting and spiritual
program has been planned, includ
ing special singing by a quartet,
trio, and soloist. Also, there will
be lots of good singing by the en
tire congregation. The main speak
er for this meeting with be Rev.
A. D. Phillips who has come to be
greatly beloved in this area.
Everyone is most cordially invit
ed and urged to be present for this
meeting, to share in the blessings
of fellowship and inspiration it has
to offer. It is hoped that a large
number will be present for this
event.
COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS
AND GARDEN COUNCIL TO DE
CORATECOURT HOUSE SQUARE
The Garden Club Council of Cum
ming is sponsoring the lighting
and decorating of the Courthouse
square for the Christmas season.
Several clubs and organizations
in the town and county are parti
cipating in this program. The Sil
ver City Community Improvement
Club, The Chamber of (Vmmerce,
Veterans of Foreign Wiars, and the
Big Creek Community Improve
ment Club are participating in this
project. The Garden Club Council
wishes to thank these organizat
ions for their splendid help and
cooperation in beautifying our
county courthouse at this season.

The Cumming Garden Club Coun
cil is sponsoring the home lighting
and decorating contest again this
year. It will be judged by quali
fied judges and priizes awarded to
the best decorated homes. First
prize $15.00. Second prize SIO.OO.
and third prize $5.00. The contest
is open to everyone in the city
limits and anyone living outside
the city limits wishing to enter.
Those living out of the city, how
ever, must notify one of the coun
cil members by mail in order that
the homes be included in the judg
ing. The deadline for notifying the
council is December 15 and judg
ing of the decorations will take
place the night of December 20.
