Does your cow have to

It should not be necessary for a cow to
walk a mile to find enough feed. Good
pastures just don’t happen. They are the
result of good seed, fertilizer, lime and
good management.

MORE BROILER ON
LESS FEED
Georgia is making “great pro
gress” in rate of growth and feed
conversion in growing broilers, Ar
thur Gannon, poultryman for the
Agricultural Extension Service,
said. At one time, Gannon pointed
out, it took nearly four and one
half pounds of feed to grow each
pound of liveweight broiler. Now a
feed conversion of around 2.50 is
common, and it is getting better
all the time.
Because it does not have the ne
cessary natural moisture and inter
nal fat, “economy beef” needs to
be cooked with moist heat to give
it tenderness.
