Trade in CUMMING: It pays you and every
body who lives here.
Education is the greatest promoter oi busi
ness to be found anywhere.
What you do not write never comes up in
the courtroom.
Any financial expert can tell somebody else
how to manage his money.
Life would be re,ore simple if more people
were willing to be themselves.
Those who overtalk about themselves
rarely fool the public long.
There is more to being a good teacher than
a knowledge of a subject.
Curiosity is still the basis of most of our
knowledge. Are you still curious?
businesses could increase profits by reduc
ing profit margins and increasing volume.
Empty heads appreciate empty honors, and
there are plenty of them in every community.
Individuals who set out to reform the human
race will be pretty tired before the job is done.
Church-goers do not necessarily lead model
lives, but, on the average, they are our best
citizens.
Trading in Cumming is common sense; mer
chants and customers should keep this thought i
in mind.
Advertising is the art of persuading a buyer
that what you have to sell is worth more to him
than his money.
The solution to most problems will be heard
if you listen to the next three men that you
observe in conversation.
There is only one problem harder to solve
than makking money and that is keeping it
once you have made a little of it.
The human race owes much of its progress to
the good lives of obscure men and women, like
the ones who live in Gumming.
Everybody would like to have a government;
that can operate without taxes and yet give the
people the benefits of modern times.
Some people say a lot by not talking much.
Noisy people wonder why anybody desires
to be quiet
A free press is vital to the liberty of any
people and when you see governments supress
ing freedom of speech, you witness a govern
ment that is getting ready to rule without re-;
gard to the wishes of the majority.

PASTURE DEVELOPMENT
J. R. Johnson, agronomist-project

WATCH FOR SCOTCHGARI)
According to Miss Avola White
sell, clothing specialist, Agricultur
al Extension Service, work is under
way to develop a new' resin that
resists both water and oil stains.
A particular finish known as
"Scotchgard” is beginning to be
used on woolens. Additional re
search is underway to perfect it
for use on cotton, synthetics, and
rayons.
HOW TO STORE CRANBERRIES
The “Holiday Fruit” the cran
berry is on Thanksgiving and
Christmas menus, and Mrs Betty
Alexander, consumer information
specialist, Agricultural Extension
Service, passes along some suggest
ions to homemakers on how to
properly store the berry. It should
be refrigerated and may be stored
in the cello-type bag or “window”
box in which it is sold. If chilled
cranberries are left in a warm
room they will “sweat” and decay.
Home Management Specialist
Miss Hilda Dailey, recommends the
use of a rubber floor mat in front
of the sink to cushion the home
maker’s feet while she works.
