AIR FORCE RECRUITER
ANNOUNCES DATES HERE
Tech Sergeant Hugh D. Swift,
the local Air Force Recruiter, to
day announced that beginning the
first of December 1957, he will be
at the Post Office in Cumming
every Tuesday and the fourth
Thursday of each month, between
12:30 pm and 1:00 pm to receive
and process applications for young
men interested in enlistment in the
United States Air Force.
Sergeant Swift further pointed
out that persons interested in in
formation concerning Air Force
Careers and Benefits should con-

BROWNIE SCOUTS
Brownie Troop Two met at the
Community house Saturday Nov
ember 23. We had our Brownie
Party Saturday. We invited our
Mothers and Fathers. The old
brownies invited Mrs. Mashburn,
their former leader. Laura and
Lera Boling had devotional. Mar
guerite Mashburn told the brownie
story. Nancy Boggan led our three
brownie songs. The old brownies
received their Brownie Member
ship Pendant.

Community referendum commit
; tees who will be responsible for
conducting the cotton marketing
[quota referendum throughout the
j county on December 10, 1957 have
been announced by the Chairman
County Agricultural Stabilization
and Conservation Committee. All
members are farmers eligible to
vote in the referendum. Many of;
the referendum committeemen are :
also elected community committe- |
men.
Arrangements fo rthe establish ]
ment of polling places in all of
Forsyth County’s seven cotton
growing communities have been
completed. Notices are now being
[ mailed to each farmer who has a
cotton acreage allotment, informing j
him of the place where he may
vote in the referendum. All per
sons who, as landlord, tenant, or j
sharecropper, engaged in the pro
duction of upland cotton in 1957
are eligible to vote in the upland
referendum. If there is any ques
tion about eligibility, farmers are
asked to check with their County
ASC Office.

test for the Business Houses of
Cumming is being sponsored by the
Junior Chamber of Commerce.
Judging will be on December 20,
and ribbons will be given as first,
