Cumming. Georgia.
A streamline multi button business telephone, the “Call Director”,
was introduced this week by Southern Bell Telephone Company.
The new instrument, featuring a modern functional design, was
developped for the businessman who needs more than six push buttons
on a telephone, and the Secretary or the Clerk who answers calls for
a number of people.
W. C. Davis, Southern Bell Manager here, said the “Call Director"
Incorporates in a single unit many features that formerly required
seprate pieces of equipment.
At the touch of a button, it provides such service as intercom
munication transfer of calls, signalling and conference calling between
extensions. It also allows a user access to scverl other lines and per
mits the holding of a call on one line while another line is answered.
The “Call Director” was tested extensively in a six-month trial
among business customers Mr. Davis said. It is available in 18 ar.d oO
button models and a variety of colors.
