NOTES AND COMMENTS
Any wife can make a man of her husband
if he will only listen to what she says.
The individual who practices intellectual hon
esty, regardless of organizational affiliation,
is making progress.
Life’s Little Lesson you can’t buy what
you want unless you have cash or a stubstitute
therefor.
Any glib talker can give you reasons for
either side, but if you want the truth, try to
think for yourself.
Fond par. nts who seek to live their children’s
lives usually manage to mess up everything for
everybody.
The intelligent man learns from experience
and is able to gauge the future by what has
happened in the past.
Nearly every American thinks he is a writer
except the men and women who have to make
thei. living by writing.
Remeber that even kind-hearted people get
no pleasure from listening to your narrative
about all your aches and pains.
Driving courteously and exhibiting good man
ners wil do more to reduce highway fatalities
than all the traffic regulations.
Advertising in the NEWS is the easiest and
cheapest way to tell everybody what you want
them to know.
EARN WHAT YOU WANT
It might be well for the young people of For
syth County to understand now that the major
ity of those who have anything in a world that
worships money worked for what they have
acquired.
Too often, the youthful mind is impressed
with the easy accumulation of a fortune by some
exceptional figure that looms large in the public
consciousness, 1
is the great exception among a mass of hard
wos. who got to tne top by the sweat ot then
brows, rather than through some streak of luck
More and more there is the conviction abroad
iii the world that individuals who do not earn
what they have are not entitled to their posses
sions. T here is something' in the thought.
If every youngster who begins a business life
in the next ten years gets thoroughly imbued
with the idea of giving value for money or re
wards received, the business world will not be
worried as much by the next period of depres
sion and the chances are that the people of the
next generation will find life a happier proposi
tion.

Two years has passed since that
sad day,
Someone we loved was called j

The call was short, the shock
severe,
To part with one we loved so dear.
