Meeks who de parted this life June 21, 1958 at the age of 63 years and 5 months. Just as the evening sun was singing low, the death Angels vis ited our home and took my darling form me. It seemed like it was more than I could bear, but 1 know that Jesus does all things well. He whispered sweet peace and said Vester come home and rest sweetly with me for you have toil ed long enough in this old world and the gates swung open wied and he entered that sweet home. Sometimes the way is dark and lonely, but Vester I am trying to be ready to meet you in that sweet home above for there is nothing down here for me since you are gone. Words can’t tell the sad hours I have spent since you went away for the one I loved so dearly has forever passed away. I pray one day we will all meet with our Lord and when I think of that day I know vou are at peace while we here wait that somewhere we will answer as you did to your grave. I sadly water the flowers that I placed with loving care and I feel that you are near me as I linger there and many tears I often shed utt God in all his wisdom has ar ranged everything good for his children. He is not dead, he is just away with a cherry smile and a wave of his hand. My heart aches with loneliness, my' eyes sheds many tears, God only knows how I miss you at the end of this long year. You often said Mattie it will all be over with some o fthese days and nobody j knows how sad it is until it comes i home to them. What is home with out a husband. Lord help me, tis so sad to break the tender cord when love has bound two hearts, tis so sad to speak the words we must forever part on earth. Heven will surely be worth it all for I am longing for that beautiful place to be with Jesus and lovedones that has gone on before. I have a Father, Mother, Broth er and Sister, a Husband and two dear Children up there and I want to search Heaven for them. Dear Lord, I pray now to guide us from day to day that me and my dear children may walk the straight and narrow way and when Thursday, June 18, 1959. this life here is no more we all can meet Husband and Daddy on that golden shorte.
