Cut 12 six inch strips, secure them at the top of the umbrella and let them fall down the sides of the open umbrella—with two strips in each section between the spokes. Cut enough fishnet to cover the top of the tables, with ample material to hang over the edge. With the rest of the fishnet, cover the umbrella. Secure the ends of the net at each spoke, by hanging a gold leaf paper cup, right side up and filled with sand. This holds the fishnet to the umbrella, yet gives a decorative effect. Drape the rest of the oil cloth at the base of the umbrella, and you have a perfect place for the gifts. Set your table buffet style—the gold leaf paper cups and plates give the party a formal look. When the guests start arriving in their fanciest bathing suits, your party be comes as gay as one in your home. Some of the girls will want a swim, and some won’t—but you may be sure, all will be ready to eat when they see the delicious spread.
