ASC Community Committee Elec

tion meetings, it was announced
this week by C. A. Bagwell, Chair
man of the Forsyth ASC County
Committee. This method of holding
the elections is a departure from
Ihe method of election by mail,
which was used last year. August
5 has been set by the State ASC
Committee as the date on which
the oommunitv election meetings
will he held. The nominations and
balloting for each committee mem
bership position at these meetings
will he by secret ballot, Mr. Bag
well stated.
Community Election Boards, con
sisting of persons outside the ASC
organization will have responsibi
llty for conducting the elections.
Mr. Bagwell stated that questions
on eligibility to vote will be ruled
on by the Community Election
Board. The Regulations of the Se
cretary of Agriculture prohibit any
one from serving on the County
or Community Committee, who has
been a candidate for or held a
Federal, State, or County office
filled by an election, during the
past year.

ASC activities, which include the
Soil Bank Program. ACP Program.
Price Support, Allotment and Mar
keting Quota Program, and many
other duties Mr. Bagwell declared.
With so many responsibilities
being placed on our countv ASC
Commttoemen, it is urged that all
voters in this year’s elections care
fully consider and vote for the
best qualified nominees for the
committee membership, Mr. Bag
well stated.
