the Bank in Macon now. They will
make their home in Macon after
a wedding trip to Daytona Beach.

There will be a Cox Reunion
at Friendship church Sunday Oct.
1.
We urge everyone connected in
any manner with the Cox family
to come and bring a well filled
basket. This being the first reunion
that the younger ones can ever
remember, we hope this one will
be one that will be remembered
for many years. Also hope this
will he the start of a annual
reunion that will be enjoyed by
all for years to come.

(Girls Auxiliary to WMS) Coro
nation Sunday night, "September
24.
The theme "For God- So Loved"
was very w'ell carried out in thc
decorations by Mrs. Leon Bciing.
As the service began candles
were lighted by Cheryl Lambert
and Marion Wheeler w’hile Cherrie
Brooks sang "The Love of God”.
Mrs. Joe Roane was narrator and
Mrs. Troy Acree gave the charges
and awards.
There were fourteen girls pass
ing forward steps, four of them
were crowned Queens. Those re
ceiving awards were: Madens,
Stella Carnes, Margaret Conner,
Elaine Coots and Joan Wiiburn;
Ladies-in-waiting, Wanda Acree
and Dale Thornton; Princesses,
Ann Bennett, Laura Boling, Lera
Boling and Susan Gravitt; Queens,
Linda Boling, Andrea Conner,
Gloria Conner and Patricia Howell.
The service closed with the
girls singing “The Light of the
World is Jesus”. Benediction by
Mrs. Hugh Matthews.

The marriage of Patsy Ann
Gravitt, daughter of Mrs. Vonceil
Gravitt and the late Alfron Gravitt
to Preston Worley, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Glenn Worley, was solemnized
September 1, at the home of Rev.
Ford Phillips with Rev. Phillips
officiating.
The bride was becomingly dress
ed in a Beige faille suit with
white accessories.
The bride is a graduate of For
syth County High School and is
employed by the Kistlers Insurance
Agency in Atlanta.
Mr. Worley, a graduate of For
syth County High School, is em
ployed at Sears, Roebuck and Co.
in Atlanta.

residing at the Tony Law’ton home

pital Sunday, September 24. She
has been given the name Donna
Marie.
Mrs. Davis will lie remembered
as Betty Pirkle.
MRS. ROBERTS HONORED
AT A TEA
Mrs. Charles Roberts, who lias
recently moved to Cumming, was
honored with a tea given Saturday
afternoon at the home of Mrs.
Roy Otwell, Jr. with Mrs. Latrelle
O. Brooks as co-hostess.
The guests were greeted at the
door by Mrs. Roy Otwell, Sr. who
introduced them to the receiving
line composed of Mrs. Roy Otwell,
Jr., Mrs. Brooks and Mis. Rob.-its.
Fall flowers were use I through
out the house.
Mrs. A. Y. Howell. Mrs. Joe
Brooks and Mrs. Cecil Mize direct
ed the guests to the dining room
where Miss Cherrie Brooks and
Mrs. Jack Baggett assisted in
serving.
The dining table was overlaid
with an important cutwork cloth,
centered with a cadeiabra arrange
ment of yellow mums and white
snapdragons. Trays of dainty as
sorted sandwiches and cookies
were placed or. each side of the
table. Punch w'as served by Mrs.
Troy Acree and Mrs. James Otwell
Around fifty guests called be
tween the hours of four and six
to meet Mrs. Roberts.
Mrs. Roberts chose for the tea
a yellow' silk dress upon which she
wore a corsage of yellow roses.

ALPHA TRI-HI-Y NEWS
The Forsyth County Alpha Tri-
Hi-Y plans to make this its great
est year.
The new officers have begun the
year with ample preparation.
August 20-24, Delores Patterson,
Vice President, Jane Bennett, Sec
retary, and Linda Hughes, Chap
lain, along with Mrs. Coots, Ad
visor, attended the annual State
Y.M.C.A. Hi-Y and Tri-HiY Officers
Training Conference at Rock
Eagle. The purpose of the confer
ence is to train the newly elected
officers of the various clubs in
carrying out their duties during
the school year.
September 14, the executive
council met after school for dis
cussion of projects for school and
community.
September 20, the first regular
meeting of the whole club was
held. Our President Betty Perry
presided. Deloris Patty Perry pre
sided. Delores Patterson gave a
very inspiring devotional based
on “The Challenge of the Change,”
the theme of the Rock Eagle Con
ference. The School and Communi
ty Project Chairman, Carolyn Hoi-
Brook and Elaine Graham gave
reports on September projects and
selected new projects for October.
Linda Hughes gave a report on
the Rock Eagle Training Confer
ence. Janice Haw'kins was elected
as Recreation Chairman. Forty
five people were present including
new members who were joining

The Beta-Tri-Hi-Y met Wednes
day in Mrs. Pulliam’s room. Linda
Voyles had the devotional.
The President told us what was
expected of us each month. We
voted on our constitution.
Our school project for this mon
th is a "Good Sportsmanship Cam
paign". The Community Project
is to attend at least three times
per month. Everyone who pledges
to do this receives a cross saying.
"I will attend church Sunday".
Linda Ingram got up a skit on
good sportsmanship, the name of
the skit was "Your Sportsmanship
on Trial”. Several members of the
club took part in this. We sang
songs and then adjourned.

BIRTHDAY PARTY
Master Jeffery Stancil, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Stancil cele
brated his fifth birthday last Sat
urday afternoon, with a party at
his home on the Atlanta Road.
His birthday cake was decorat
ed in green and white with mina
ture animals on top carrying out a
circus theme. Ice cream and Coca-
Cola were also served.
A number of games were played
by the guests.

The Delta Tri-Hi-Y met Septem
ber 20, -961. We discussed and vot
ed on a name for our club. We
decided on the name Delta.
We had a real nice program by
Patsy Bramblett.
The duties of the officers were
discussed. The new officers are:
