PAGE 7 THE FORSYTH COUNTY NEWS, CUMMING, GA., NOV. 20, 1969 STRICTLY FOR WOMEN By; Zelma R. Bannister Holiday Planning Are you getting ready for the holidays? Sound like lam jump ing the gun? Well, now is a good time to do some serious pla nning if you haven’t already done so. Let’s think and plan for a few minutes on preparing for the holiday foods you may want to serve. Use one of your most valued appliances the food freezer— to prepare for the holiday sea son. Follow these simple rules for enjoyable mealtime exper iences. Freeze only high quality foods. Choose a variety of foods your family will enjoy. Follow ing recommended instructions, prepare food for the freezer immediately to avoid loss of quality. Be sure, to package foods in meal-size quantities. Fill con tainers properly, leaving head space for expansion of liquid or simi-liquid foods. Foods should be frozen quick ly and stored at zero degrees or lower. If you need any in structions in preparing and fr eezing foods for the holiday sea son, please contact my office. We can provide you with the necessary information. Another tip to those home makers who plan to purchase commercially frozen foods, be Miss Lynn Bennett, Gail Durand, Frances Welch and Bobbie Sue Gibbs visited Lugene Bennett Friday night. Mr. and Mrs. Ruthford Waldrip visited Mr. and Mrs. Ray Waldrip in Gainesville recently. Mr. Ciscero Collins of Gainesville visited his sister, Mrs. Bertha Waldrip Thursday. Mr, and Mrs. Stanley Mooney visited Mrs. Mooney’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Toy Dean Pugh near Silver City. Several from here attended the singing at New Bridge Church in Hall County Sunday and report a fine singing. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Wood and children, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Chung visited their grandmother, Mrs. Tina Bagby in the Dekalb General Hospital near Decatur Sunday. Observing birthdays are Miss Lynn Bennett, W.C. Owen, Hazel Allen and Bertha Mae Brice. Mr. and Mrs. Buster Harris of Dawsonville visited Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Bennett Tuesday night. sure to take this food home quickly and place immediately in your food freezer. FROZEN BREADS Do you and your family enjoy homemade yeast bread and rolls? Why not plan to prepare a quantity and store them in the food freezer for the holiday season? All baked breads and rolls are perfectly preserved by fr eezing. Unbaked dough may lose some of its rising capacity after freezing and thawing. However, unbaked dough can be successfully frozen for a short time. Scientific research shows that there is an advantage in freezing rolls, even for as short a period as 24 hours. You may freeze rolls fully baked or brown and serve rolls. These will keep up to six months. Un baked rolls may be held frozen for a week to ten days. Unb aked dough may be held for up to three weeks. Remember to use a standard receip; package in moisture vapor proof freezer materials; quick freeze and store at zero degrees or lower temperature. IT’S A FACT! You can’t be a howling suc cess by simply howling.
