Second Graders
Thanksgiving Play
Mrs. Shirley Holtzclaw’s se
cond year pupils at the Cumming
Elementary School presented a
play, The Thanksgiving Story,
Monday, Nov. 24, 1969. The
School, faculty and parents at
tended the play. Much was lea
rned about our Pilgrim fathers
and our great heritage.

4-H Club
Mrs. Bannister met with the
Chestatee Cloverleaf 4-H Club
on November 20. The president,
E vonda Mathis, called the meet
ing to order. Sheila Bagwell
gave an interesting demonstra
tion on making cupcakes. After
the program, we played a game
and the meeting was adjourned.

Family And Children
Services Recruiting
The Forsyth County Depart
ment of Family and Children
Services will begin an intensive
campaign to recruit volunteers
to help solve welfare problems
on January 1, 1970.
Mr. Ronald H. McClure, For
syth County Driector urges all
interested Forsyth citizens to
offer their services in this
effort.
“There are many people who
are interested in solving the
problems of welfare depen
dency. I hope they will volun
teer their time and talents to
help the less fortunate,*’ he
said.
Part of the statewide Volun
teer Services Program of the
Department of Family and Ch
ildren Services,the Forsyth Co
unty Program will focus its vol
unteer services on three major
areas of need: Transportation
of welfare clients to receive
medical services under the

who need “catch-up” help in

will be added as the Program
expands.
The purpose of the Program
is to supplement the work of the
six regular, professional case
workers in the County Depart
ment. Volunteers will enrich the
welfare program and improve
communication between the De
partment and the community.
