OBITUARIES
GARRETT
Funeral services for Jerry
F. Garrett, age 28 of Cummins,
were held Jan. 3, 1970 at Con
cord Baptist Church with Rev.
Hoyt Thompson and Rev. Early
Day officiating.
Interment was held InSawnee
View Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Garrett died Jan. 2,1970
after an extended illness.
Survivors include: his wife,
Mrs. Ellen Gay ton Garrett, his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd
Garrett; four brothers, Mr. La
rry Garrett, Mr. Butch Garrett,
Mr. Mike Garrett, Mr. Ronnie
Garrett; one sister, Mrs. Jerry
Gibson; grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. Liger Garrett, grand
mother, Mrs. Lillie McSurne;
mother and father in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. Sam Gay ton.
Ingram Funeral Home was in
charge of the arrangements.
Local Farmer Builds
Conservation Dam Here
Charles L. Perry, district
cooperator, west of Cumming
recently completed a dam that
will impound water for fishing
purposes. The Forsyth County
ASC Committee is cost-sharing
with Perry. The local SCS te
chnicians assisted Perry with
the engineering needs.

Funeral services for Mr. Olin
C. Eidson, of Cumming, age 50,
were held Jan. 4, 1970 at Si
lver Shoals Baptist Church with
Rev. Ralph Bagwell officiating.
Interment was held in Sawnee
View Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Eidson died suddenly on
Jan. 2, 1970.
He is survived by his wife,
Mrs. Martha Eidson; two dau
ghters, Mrs, Boyd H. Wood,
Mrs. Charles Horne; three gr
andchildren; parents, Mr. and
Mrs. W.M, Eidson; two sisters,
Mrs. Emory Monroe and Mrs.
H.C. Reid; two brothers, Mr.
Billy Eidson and Mrs. Walter
Eidson. Several neices and ne
phews also survive.

charge of the arrangements.

Building Permits
There were 171 building permits were Issued from May 1,
1969 until December 31, 1969. The total estimated value of
permits issued was $2,626,632.00,
249 trailer permits were Issued. The total estimated value
was $124,500.00 .
125 permits were Issued for weU pumps, chicken houses,
and new electric service to old houses.
There were 14 Land and Building use permits issued:
10 for Mobile Home Parks
1 for Mobile Home sales lot
1 for scrap metal grading
1 for scrap metal process and bailing
1 building use permit for Home Federal t
438 slips were Issued giving permission to Sawnee Electric
and Georgia Power Company to supply electricity to new and
old houses; these were partly furnaces and heaters.
A new post office has been constructed on Canton Road. The
approximate cost of this building was $108,000.00.
Ford Gravitt constructed a Milk Jug drive-in, which is
now completed on Highway 19.
Bagwell and Mathis is constructing an addition to the tire
shop, which was destroyed by fire. This is located in Eastern
Heights.
Dr. Marcus Mashburn, Jr. has under construction a new
drive-in restaurant, Mr. Swiss, located across from the new
Milk Jug.
REA constructed a new office building just outside the city
limits of Cumming. The approximate cost of this building was
$430,000.00.
E.B. CoUett has under construction a new office building
and warehouse.
Two new churches have been constructed in the County this
year.
One community building has been constructed at Haw Creek
Church.
Th City of Cumming took in a total of $4008.09, for permit
fees for building permits, electric, plumbing, and heating
license.
The County of Forsyth took in a total of $11,284.31, on permit
fees for building permits, electric, plumbing and heating
license.
