Mr. and Mrs. Howard Goss returned home Tuesday after
spending the weekend in the Carolina's with relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Theadore Wood and sons, Joel and Douglas
of Ghamblee were dinner guest of their parents, Mr. and Mrs.
W.li, Wood Sunday night.

J.C. Burdette near New Hope on Thursday.

Ralph Bennett, Patsy Bennett, and Mr. and Mrs. Brice Bennett
visited Mrs. Viola Bennett and Mr. and Mrs. W.M. Cain Thursday.

Tony Allen who is stationed in Va. with the U.S. Army is
spending two weeks with his wife Maxine, and parents Mr. and
Mrs. Shermon Allen.

Mrs. Ida Fouts the mother of Mr. Calud Fouts funeral
was held at the Juno Baptist Church near Dawsonvllle on
Tuesday. She is survived by three sons and two daughters.
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Mooney have taken residence of their
new home recently completed on the Pleasant Grove Road.
Mrs. Jessie Mayfield Strickland who has been a patient at
the Hall Co. Hospital where she suffered a broken hip and arm,
is now convalescing at the home of her sister, Mrs. Cora
Jones.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Whitfield of Gainesville, Miss Beverly
Clements and Sharon Winters visited Mieese Rose and Ethel
Crow recently.
Mr. and Mrs. Kenny Williams and sons of Lees Summett Mo.
visited their Aunt and Uncle Mr. and Mrs. Winfred Waldrip
during the Holidays.
Mrs. Pauline Peck, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sexton of
Gainesville visited Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Peck, Mrs. Peck
has been on the sick list.

Parks were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Crouch in
Atlanta Thursday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Wood and children spent Wednesday
night in Gainesville with Mrs. Wood’s parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Rider.
Mrs. Ann Allen and Mrs. Ray Hemphill spent Monday as
guest of Mrs. Doug Pugh in Gainesville.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Smith of Memphis, Term, visited Mr. and
Mrs. Jimmy Bennett Saturday night.
MR. AND Mrs . Bill Bagwell and family were dinner guest
of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Mayfield near Harmoney Grove Saturday
night.
Mrs. Pearl Cash spent several days in Atlanta with Mr. and
Mrs. 0.8. Corley; on Saturday Mrs. Glenn Mathis, Mrs. Doris
Millwood and daughter Donna visited the Corley's and Mrs.
Cash accompanied them home.
Mr. Osborne (Doc) Cain returned to hi s home in Columbia,
Tenn., after spending the holidays with his mother, Mrs. W.W.
Cain.
A number from here attended the funeral of Mr. Grover Car
lyle which was held at the Salem Baptist Church Wednesday.
He is survived by his wife Ruby, two sons, Mr. H.G. Carlyle,
Jr. and Mr. Gene Carlyle; a step daughter, Mrs. J.B. Mooney.

Course
On January 12,1970, Mrs. Do

estatee and Mrs. Thena Satter
field of Midway will begin a two
week training course for para
professional work. The training
will be conducted by Dr. Eldon
D. Johnson and his staff from
the Ninth District Educational
Services Center at Cleveland,
Georgia. Prarprofessionals
from Gwinnett, Buford, For
syth, Gainesville, Hall, Jeffer
son and Commerce School
Systems will meet at Hooper-
Renwick Center in Lawrence
ville.
The Paraprofessionals will
work with handicapped child
ren in each school in the first
three grades. The severly han
dicapped will require special
hPID.
Last summer four parapro
fessionals received training for
work in Cumming Elementary
School, Sawnee Elementary and
at. Ducktown.
4-H
The 7th grade 4-H girls met
December 3, 1969 at the Cum
ming Upper Elementary School.
Carolyn Wallace called the
meeting to order. We then had
the 4-H Pledge and devotional.
Van Wallace lead us in “Si
lent Night.” Terry Wright read
the minutes of the last meet
ing. Two committee reports we
re given by Patsy Eubanks.
Mrs. Bannister then gave out
new record books.
The meeting was adjoured by
the president.
