TO THE VOTERS OF FORSYTH COUNTY
1 have qualified as a candidate for Post 1 of the
Forsyth County Board of Commissioners subject
to the ndes and regulations of the Democratic
Primary to be held August 8, 1972.
My main reason for offering for this office is to
work for the reduction in our property taxes. We
have seen the ever increasing trend in raising pro
perty taxes in this county and, if not stopped, this
will force many of you, who are on fixes incomes,
to sell your small properties. I have been stating
that my personal beliefs would not permit me to
agree that it is fair to force our to sell
their properties. This is wrong! We must and we
WILL make every effort' to change the property
tax structure and to place more of the tax burden
on those people more able to pay taxes.
£ My complete platform consists of the following
♦ items which I shall strive to place into effect if
♦ elected: 1. REDUCE PROPERTY TAXES. 2. Pre-
X pare and Use a Balanced Budget. 3. Practice eco-
J nomy in operating county. 4. Involve all our in-
X terested citizens. 5. Transact all business in public.
♦ 6. Advertize and use bids in county purchasing.
J 7. Secure state and federal aid. 8. Work for com-
X plete tax revision program. 9. Work for millage rate
♦ limitation. 10. Zone our county for orderly
$ growth. This is my complete platform and I would
♦ ask each of you to study it carefully. It can be
? put into effect with your help.
♦ / nm no wht>plpr and dealer in real estate and don’t
I plan to be. If elected my efforts will be in all the
X CITIZENS of this county - not a select few. Zon
f mg will be carried out for the county’s benefit -
X not the land speculators. / believe the average citi
♦ zen wants this.
t M* educational background and business exper
♦ ience is sufficient to qualify me for this office. It
! consists of a B.S.A. Degree from the University of
Georgia, bookkeeping experience and teaching ex
\ [ perience of over 20 years in various fields.
j | Your vote and influence on my behalf will be gr
\! eatly appreciated and I will promise you that it will
<! not be wasted or betrayed. Elect me and I will give
\ | you my all out efforts to work for this county the
i < next two years.
! Sincerely,

runner - up awards of $25
Savings Bonds.
The contest was con
ducted during the spring of this
year and was aimed at stimu
lating original thinking and self
examination toward the drug
problem in our communities and
schools. It was felt that students
would gain a better understand
ing and appreciation concerning
drugs and drug abuse if given
the incentive to study the pro
blem for themselves. The only
sure cure for the nation’s drug
problem is to eliminate the
