BY JAN HUGHES

French Quarter or Old Square
Is an Ideal vacation setting In
downtown New Orleans.
New Orleans Is a city of ex
tremes, with roots deep in re
splendent 16th century heritage,
co-exlstent with sharp shoots
of progress.
Home of the Sugar Bowl. New
Orleans also boasts of being the
second port In our nation.
It must be die most lnter
estlnc of cities, I have visited.
For die fact, it is largely a
tourist city, you are spinning
In total excitement from the
time you arrive until you lea
ve. Some of the country’s top
entertainers will be walking cl
own the street by you, or you
will see them across the fl
oor as you enter the beauti
ful buildings.
As It Is the true home of
America’s music, Jazz, die s
ounds echo across the famous
small streets. The French Q
uarter with its jazz groups be
gins to sdmulate into motion
around 3:00 p.m. and continues
until hours of the morning. E
veryone sleeping late, the act
ivity arises the next afternoon.
It Is unique, It Is the New Or

Hello,
I’m Robert Coker
A Candidate For
Tax Commissioner
of Forsyth County
As tax commissioner 1 will do everything possible to eliminate the waste of valuable
time now being lost standing in line at the office during the tag buying season. During
this lime I will open the office early in the morning, slay open late in the evenings,
Saturday afternoons, and the office will always be open during the lunch hour, I intend
to work out a system for mail ordering the auto tag. I will do this in order to accomod
ate all the people of Forsyth County.
I will meet with any citizen of the county at anytime to discuss and try to resolve any
problem or complaint they may have with the office, or the personel within the office!
All the personel in the tax office will be honest, friendly, respectful, and courteous
with you at all times.
On back taxes, l intend to and will do everything within the power of the office to
collect these taxes. In my visiting around to some of the homes in the county these
past few days, I find it hard to believe that some of the names which appear on the
delinquent list an’ actually delinquents. I will work with the people with this problem
dircctlx. get with all concerned, and after an investigation has been made; do find they
owe these taxes, then action will be taken to collect these taxes.
I will work with the County Commissioners, Tax Assessors, and all concerned citizens
in equalizing and preventing any further increases in our property taxes. I will work
with all the city and county government in an effort to better organize and to estab
lish a closer relation within the offices, and would like for all interested citizens to get
involved by having open meetings and discussing all the problems now facing all the
people of Forsyth County; try to look ahead and plan for the rapid growth, and ser
vices of our county.
In consideration of the current financial slamling of our county it is useless for me
to try to tell you how vitally important it is that we elect and employ honest citizens
to fill every office of our government, li e must elect a complete body of dedicated,
dependable, honest, and qualified citizens putting emphasis on good and readily avail
able service to all, in order to pul a great county such as ours back on the road to
to success. This is why I'm asking you for your vote and support on lugust Bth. 1972.
Remember me on this date.
I am thankful for and proud of both my home and of Forsyth County. I would like
to work with and sert'e you the people of Forsyth County, so give me a chance, get
out there and vote for Robert S. Coker, a man who enjoys helping you.
Thank you and may God bless. Robert Coker
