CONTD. from Pag* I
told them it belonged to Lee
Gllstrap Sr.
Agents found plastic bags st
ashed In caches on the underside
of the seats. Two small bags of
black capsules thought to be
“nomemade” amphetamine ca
psules were found.
Another car on the property
was locked, and when agents as
ked Gllstrap for the key, Gil
strap said he didn’t know any
thing about who owned the car.
While agents tried to pry open
the trunk, a check of the tag
number showed the car belonged
to Mrs. Lee Gllstrap Sr., Blue
Ridge Drive, Gainesville, ag
ents said.
When the trunk was forced op
en, agents said they discovered
the money that had been used
In the buy earlier in the day
as well as a metal cash box
containing anundeterminedam
ount of money estimated
by agents to be $15,000 to $20,-
000.
A further search of cars on
the lot at Gllstrap’s business
yielded zi6 pints of liquor of
various brands. This brought
another charge against Gllstrap
for having an overlimit of tax
paid whiskey.
The United States spent a
record $17.7 billion on wel
fare last year, an Increase of
nearly $3.3 billion over 1970,
observes the National Associa
tion of Manufacturers. In 14
states and federal jurisdictions
the number of people on the wel
fare rolls soared by 20 percent
or more. In 20 others the In
crease was between xu anu zu
percent. Only In nine states
did the rolls decrease.

If elected I promise to give my full cooperation to
all the elected and appointed public officials of
Forsyth County.
I realize fully, that Forsyth County is a growing
county. These problems of rapid growth are acc
ompanied by increasing crime. With this in mind, I
shall be committed fully to the support of the
sheriff’s office and adequate law enforcement for
Forsyth County - and I mean all of Forsyth.

With many miles of Lake Lanier shoreline, this area
is a lucrative target for thieves and vandals. With

County, we are a few minutes away from the high
crime areas of Atlanta. With this in mind, I commit
myself totally to the support of better law enforce
ment and support of the lawmen.
I am also committed to economy in government. I
shall seek additional volunteer support for the For
syth County Fire Department and attempt to re
move from the sheriff’s office the chore of oper
ating and maintaining the county fire truck.
I will make no promises concerning any possible
reduction of ad-valorem property taxes. I will
promise; however, to study the current system of
property assessments with the idea* that all pro
perty owners shall be treated equally.
I earnestly seek your support in this run-off elec

The most I can promise is that all people will be
