tained the wedding party with
a rehearsal dinner on Friday
evening, May 26, 1972 at 7:00
p.m. at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Joel Tallant, grandparents
of the groom.
The bride presented her ma
tron of honor with mother o:
pearl pierced ear rings.
The groom presented his best
man with an antique gold road
runner tie tack.
One dinning table was covered
with an ecru lace cloth, the
other with a white linen cloth.
Each table was centered with s
vase of pink roses.

on the basis of her leadership
and contributions in the fields

and civic activities.

The Forsyth County Jaycettes
have been busy for the past
several weeks!
After assisting the Forsyth
County Jaycees during the two
day 4th of July celebration,
work was begun on the Awards
Committee and Cumming’s an
nual fair. Also, several mem
bers attended the Region mee
ting.
Committee members on
Awards include Jan Bramblett,
Phyllis Carlisle, Ann Milford,
Jannie Smallwood, Marie Welch
and Barbara Barnett. They have
held two meetings since July
1, 1972.
Jane Hainline was chairman
guests of the Southeastern F
air at the annual Homemaker
Luncheon to be held at the
Fairgrounds on Georgia Home
maker Day. All ladies are ad
mitted free to the Homemaker
Day program, 3 p.m., Thurs
day, oct. 5

is sponsored annually by the
above organizations in coopera
tion with the Southeastern Fair
Association.

The double ring ceremony
was performed by the Reverend
Paul Thompson.
The altar was in front of
the fireplace using the trad
itional wedding gown of shantung
with an embroidered lace
bodice. An A-line skirt fell from
the empire wasitline. In lieu of
a veir, her comure consisted
of an arrangement of white
carnations and baby’s breath.

Dr. James T. Rogers, pres
ident of Brenau College, has
announced the appointment of
Eugene L. Meyer to the newly
created post of Vice President
for Development at Brenau.
Meyer, a native of Woodville,
Ohio, comes to Brenau from
California Lutheran College in
Thousand Oaks, California. He
has served in the development
office at California Lutheran
since 1968 as Director of Al
umni and Church Relations.
Atßrenau Meyer’s chief res
ponsibilities will be in the area
of institutional development. He
will also be responsible for
coordinating the college’s ad
missions, alumnae and public
relations programs. In annou
ncing his appointment, Dr. Ro
gers said , “After several
months of searching for the
right person, I feel confident

California Lutheran College, he
was associated with Capital Un
iversity, his alma mater, in
Columbus, Ohio. There he held

offices.
Meyer is a member of the
American Alumni Council, the
American College Public Re
lations Association and is lis
ted in Who’s Who in American
College and University Ad
ministration. He has been ac
tive in community affairs in
Thousand Oaks and is an active
church layman, serving on sev
eral national committees of the
American Luthera n Church.
