In Conservancy Project
Practically from the moment
.of its birth, the Georgia Con
servancy recognized that Geor
gia’s waterways needed imm
ediate attention from conser
vationists.
Georgia is a state rich in
mountain streams, Whitewater
rapids, and majestic rivers.
But, like so many other areas
of our nation, Georgia is pla
gued by many water pollution
problems: home and industrial
waste disposal; damming; sw
amp drainage; channelization
and dredging; pesticide pollu
tion; riverbank damage and er
osion; temperature fluctuations
caused by industrial usage; and
many more.
How can these problems be
solved? Where do we begin?
Can one organization come up
with practical solutions—and
insure their implementation?
The problems can be solved
through joining efforts by vari
ous conservative groups coope
rative with government, indus
try and private individuals to
save Georgia’s waterways. We
begin by bringing these factions

At this time, the Conservancy

direct action; in others, it takes
the form of investigation or an

are used.
The projects are as follows:
—land-use planning for the

—opposition to channeliza

Voters, / wish to thank you for your vote and influence on August 8, in the Democratic Primary. / appreciate it very much.
Now, / am in the Run Off on August 29, and / still have the same plans and ambition as / did in the Primary, even more so, now that / have
only one opponent.
/ believe with all my heart that / am capable and can help our county to overcome this great indebtness we have and also help our county
to become a better and more prosperous county for everyone.
/ am not in favor of any additional property taxes. / think they are already too much and / will work hard to find better ways of
financing our county than raising taxes.
/ believe by better management - competitive buying - and working hard to secure more state and federal aid - we can move forward.
/am not in favor of slowing down our improvements or doing without things our schools need, or reducing our law enforcement, or helping our
needy people, but if the five commissioners you elect will be honest, sincere - and dedicated, all this can be done with less expense.
Let me say that I have made no commitments and / am not teamed up with anyone, and / can and will be open minded and courteous to all,
and / am in position to give this job all the time that is necessary.
Did you know that the five man commissioner board you elect has charge of all funds collected or presented to Forsyth County by the
Government?
Then you must realize how important it is to select the best and most experienced business men that are in this run off election.
So you voters inquire about me and my business experience, if you have any questions please call 887-2123 and I'll be happy to talk to
you. Also if you need a way to go to vote or an absentee ballot, call the same number.
YOUR VOTE AND INFLUENCE WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Sincerely,
Weldon H. Stewart
