First Islands Campsites Open Sept. 1
BUFORD— The fun will no 1-
onger have to end at sundown
for those who visit the Lake
Lanier Islands on the coming
Labor Day weekend.
Fot them, and for millions
who will follow, the Sept. 1
opening of the first campsites
at Indian Acres of Lake Lan
ier will give the Islands
a 'round-the-clock, ‘round- 1-
he-calendar* capability for
family recreation and re
laxation.
The first facilities to be op
ened on the main Islands com-|
plex, the 87-camper and trai
ler pads and additional tent c
ampsites, comprise the first in-!
crement of some 900 sites ul
timately to be developed here.!
The vehicular pads will fea-l
ture water and 50-ampere ele
ctric hook-ups, charcoal grills
and picnic tables. They will be
both pull-through and back-in
types, with individual entrances
and a particular sense of priv
acy, will accommodate 35 to
45-foot units, and will rent for
from $5 to $7, The tent sites
will rent for $3.50 per night.’
Serving the new campsites
are four comfort stations with
bathing and laundry facilities,
plus a well-stocked Country S
tore in the Campsite Manager's
office. The Country Store can
provide a full line of grocer
ies, Including frozen meats as
well as canned goods, and has
the capability of filling propane
tanks for recreationalvehlcles.

The election was held during
the ASAE Annual Convention and
Exposition at the Sheraton-Wai
kiki Hotel in Honolulu.
ASAE has a membership of
4,200 executives who manage
leading trade, professional, in
dustrial, and technical associ
ations in the United States and
Canada. Their organizations in
turn represent more than 25
million members.
Massey has served on the A
SAE Board of Directors and won
the ASAE Key Award in 1967.

ATLANTA—Six Flags Over
Georgia will revert to a weekend
operating schedule after Labor
Day, Sept. 4. The announcement
was made by Six Flag Over
Georgia Vice - President and
General Manager, Errol Mc-
Koy.
Beginning Saturday, Sept. 9,
Six Flags Over Georgia will be
open weekends only, Saturdays
and Sundays, from 10 a.m. to
8 p.m,, until Sept. 30. All ri
des, shows and featured att
ractions will be in full opera
tion throughout the fall season
at Six Flags.
During October and Nov
ember, Six Flags will be open
from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sat
urdays and Sundays only. The
200 acre historically-themed
park, located west of Atlanta
on 1-20, will end its 1972 sea
son on Sunday, Nov. 12.
