Director, Forsyth Co.
Head Start Program
Head Start is a program,
funded by OEO (Office of
Economic Opportunity), set up
for the low-income, un
derprivileged, as well as other
five year olds. Our aim is to
promote the health, growth,
social, welfare, and education
for our 40 children, so that they
can move right ahead in school
and in life.

carry them to the clinic to get
their immunization shots.
Dr. Dunn has worked with us
the last two years in giving our
children a physical. We follow
this through if medical help is
needed.
Field trips are planned to
Grant Park Zoo in Atlanta, and
we also go to local places such
as grocery stores, library, post
office, fish hatchery, chicken
hatchery, farm and dairy. This
is to get them familiar with
things going on around us.

The F.H.A. girls give our
children a big Christmas party
with many gifts and Santa
Claus. The Jaycettes give an
Easter egg hunt and a party.
Our parents give a big Valen
tine party.
Mrs. Bramblett and the girls
taking cosmetology at Forsyth
Vocational School make the
girls attractive by shampooing,
setting and cutting their hair
about twice a year.

Parent involvement is a must
that enriches our total program •
There are weekly meetings so ■
that parents can gain a deeper ]
understanding of Head Start
and of their own children. They \
are advised of educational'
courses available for them, of.
meal planning tips, etc. Parents
are encouraged to visit, par-?
