Prophecy Is
Greatest Proof
The most important proof of
the divine inspiration of the
Bible is that of prophecy. The
nation Israel is right in the
middle of the prophecy. What
is happening now in the land
is no mere political war, but
rather a prophetic fulfillment.
Any serious Bible Student can
see that things are shaping up
for the final battle. To be
assured of this we need to turn
to Gen. 12:15 and read of
Israel in prophecy. Here we
learn of God’s royal grant
concerning the land. Before
Abraham had ever seen the
land of Canaan God promised
it to Abraham’s seed “And the
LORD appeared unto Abram
and said, unto thy seed will I
give this land”..., Gen. 12:7.
Then in Gen. 13:15, “For all
the land which thou seest to
thee will I give it, and to thy
seed forever.” Israel has
never possessed all the land
which runs from the river of
Egypt to the great river
Euphrates. God has promised
that once Israel was back in
the promised land that he
gave to their father Abraham
they would never leave it
again, “And I will plant them
upon their land, and they shall
no more be pulled up out of
their land which I have given
them, saith the LORD thy

What She Could
In the gospels we are told of
Mary anointing the feet of
Jesus with genuine spikenard
valued around SSO or equal to
eleven months work. The
apostles, especially Juda
Iscariot, criticised both Mary
and the Lord for this, but
Jesus complimented Mary for
what she did saying, “She has
done what she could, she has
anointed my body beforehand
for the burial” (Mk 14:8).
We must admire Mary
when we realize how much
the Lord meant to her—the
sacrifice of the price of
elemen months work. Jesus
said of her sacrifice, “She has
done what she could.” Can
you think of a greater com
pliment to hear from our
Lord? What would Jesus say

God.” Amos 9:15.
Although we can see in their
present warfare that there is
a great possibility they will
possess it in our life time, the
great power that must come
from the north has yet to
publically enter into the mid
east war. The armies that
have been supplied by the
north have not been able to
overcome Israel. So, they
must come themselves, ac
cording to Ezekiel 38:1-10.
This prophecy declares that
they will come by horses and
through air, vs. 4 and vs. 9,
the soldiers will fall out of the
air like a cloud. But Israel
shall be delivered according
to Eze. 39. “After that they
have borne their shame, and
all their trespasses whereby
they have trespassed against
me...when I have brought
them again from the people
and gathered them out of
their enemies’ lands and am
sanctified in them in the sight
of many nations, then shall
they know that I am the Lord
their God which causeth them
to be led into captivity among
the heathen, but I have
gathered them unto their own
land.” Israel is in their own
land and will stay there, as
God’s word teaches.

if he were to pass judgement
on us today. Have we done all
we can do for the Lord?
Have we done all we can for
our home congregation? Have
we really found time to talk to
people for Jesus? Have we
supported the work of the
church as we should have—in
assembling, in giving of our
means, in prayer and
example? Are the leaders of
our congregation aware that
they can count on us and that
we are doing all we can to
foreward the kingdom of
God? As we reflect on what
we fail to do each day for
Jesus we realize we might not
want his judgement passed on
us today. Truly few will hear
the Lord say—“He has done
what he could.”

Jealousy Governed The
Scribes And Pharisees
Some people were asking
Jesus if he was really the one
spoken of by John the Baptist.
John was in prison and his
followers were worried as to
whether or not Jesus was the
Messiah.
Jesus was full of praise for
John and in effect told the
people that John had been
truthful with them and had
steered them correctly. The
people were glad to hear this
and heard Jesus gladly.
But there was another
group who didjnot like what
they heard. This group
consisted of the Scribes and
Pharisees who were supposed
to know the scriptures better
than anyone else and who
should recognize the Messiah.
This group was critical of
John and Jesus. They accused
John of demon possession and
Jesus of being a drunkard. No
one could please them except
those who thought like them.
This critical spirit prevented
them from real joy and the
greatest blessing of their
lives.
They didn’t have the truth
and wouldn’t listen to anyone
else. This is a characteristic
of critical spirit persons, they
do not listen, nor do they
really seek out the facts.
Furthermore they do not care
what happens to those they
criticize.
The Scribes and Pharisees
cared not that their actions
led Jesus to the cross. It was
of no consequence to them
that people were healed, dead
were raised, and persons
found new life and happiness
through Christ.
All that mattered was that
they were jealous and envious
to the point that Jesus must be
eliminated. No matter that
the kingdom work might stop.
So it is with critical, divisive
spirits today. Childish as they
are, they go about seeking

What Is
Your Answer?
ByW.R. CALLAWAY
Have you found what you
are looking for in life? Does
your life have meaning? Are
you sure that your life is
pleasing to God? Do you say,
“There are so many things
that I don’t understand,
therefore I have rot
surrendered my life to God by
trusting the Lord Jesus Christ
as my Savior. I have had two
major operations. I placed
my confidence in the surgeon;
I surrendered to his judgment
and the operations were
successes. You and I don’t
understand how Christ can
save our souls; why he had to
die on the cross and to rise
from the dead? We don’t
understand all the Bible and
the theology. Just believe and
surrender to Christ and your
whole life will be made anew.
The Bible doesn’t say un
derstand Christ and the Bible
and you will be saved. The
Bible does say “Believe on the
Lord Jesus Christ and thou
shalt be saved.”
Are you planning to spend
the remainder of your life in
tension, doubt and con
fusion-chasing after things
that seem to satisfy for a
while and then fails to bring
peace to your life? If you don’t
believe in God, if you don’t
believe and trust the Son of
God, he can’t help you.
Without faith it is impossible
tp please God. If I hadn’t
surrendered to the surgeon
and had confidence in his
ability to help me get well I
would never have gotten well.

Everyone that Jesus called
he called publicly; “With the

Just quote Rom. 10:9 also—

with the mouth the Lord

Sex is God given for the
purpose of propagating the
human race. The wrong use of
sex is sinful. God gives us
time but the wrong use of time
is sinful. God gives us our
mind and body, but the wrong
use of our mind and body is
sinful. “Every good gift and
every perfect gift is from
above, and cometh down from
the Father of lights, with
whom is no variableness,
neither shadow of turning.”
Let this mind be in you
which was also in Christ
Jesus. If we have surrendered
our lives to Christ we will
think and act more like Jesus
Christ thought and acted. He
will fill our minds with the
right thoughts. His Spirit will
fill our lives with love and
understanding for our fellow
man. Love will take the place
of hatred and right will
supplant wrong in our lives.
We become new creatures in
Christ Jesus. His Holy Spirit
will help us conquer our evil
spirit of rebellion against
God.
Is your answer going to be
YES to God? or will your
answer be NO? There is no
neutral ground! You will
believe and live or you will not
believe and live in eternal
separation from God. What is
your answer?
