Farmers
Eligible
To Vote
The list of persons known to
be eligible to vote in the an
nual election of Agricultural
Stabilization and Con
servation (ASC) com
mitteemen is now officially
open for public inspection
reports Gordon L. Bruce,
County Executive Director
for ASCS in Forsyth County.
Bruce extended a special
invitation to farmers who are
new in the county this year to
check with the county ASCS
office and make sure their
name is on the farmer
committeeman voter list and
on the mailing list for farm
program news.
Ballots of the mail election
were mailed on November 14,
Bruce said, and he hopes that
the list of eligible voters were
completely up to date, without
one name missing.
“Voting eligibility depends
on whether you are eligible to
participate in any ASCS
program offered in the
county, and virtually every
Forsyth county farm owner,
operator, or tenant is eligible
to participate, whether he
actually is in a program or
not,” Bruce said.
“So if you’re new in the
county and haven’t been in
the ASCS office yet, please
drop by to be sure you will get
a ballot, to make sure your
name is on the list to receive
our regular newsletters and
announcements, and to get
acquainted.”
