Men Must
Still Signup
You mean I still have to
register for the draft?
This question is frequently
asked of Mike Y. Hendrix,
State Director of Selective
Service, and Area Selective
Service employees, by young
men in Georgia. His answer is
always a resounding—YES!
Even though there are
presently no inductions, it is
still a requirement of the
Military Selective Service Act
that young men who are 18
years of age, register with
Selective Service. They
should register during the 60-
day period commencing 30
days prior to their birthday.
Even though this period has
past, a man should register if
he has not done so.
Hendrix said that even
though there are area office
sites located in only 25
Georgia cities, there are
approximately 328 high school
counselors, post office of
ficials, housewives, firemen,
local board representatives
and others in every com
munity in the State to assist 18
year olds in registering.
Registration takes only a
few minutes. Visit the local
board at: Room G 1, Federal
Building, Gainesville, Ga.
See the Registrar in this
area: Glorida Cox, Farm
Bureau Office or Gladys
Barrett, Forsyth County High
School, Cumming, or, if you
are unable to get to your area
office location or to an
authorized registrar, you may
call or write to the local board
for a mail-in registration card
and accomplish your
registration by mail.
During the week, a
Selective Service
representative will be visiting
in your area to answer any
question you may have, or
call your area office for more
information.
Shiloh Sets

The Shiloh United
Methodist Church announces
