Pilgrim Mill Residents
Complain To County
The Forsyth County Board
of County Commissioners
heard this week a complaint
from residents of Pilgrim Mill
Circle concerning the county
road that runs through the
area.
Bill Thompson, spokesman
for the residents and a
resident himself, told the
comm issioners, “We’ve got to
get some gravel on that road.
We can’t get in and out. We
haven’t had proper main
tenance in over three years.”
He told the board that it was
one thing for him to run into
the ditch due to muddy roads,
but when his wife ran into the
ditch it was a different story.
‘.‘This is my a c<?unty too,”
Thompson added. “We pay
taxes out there and we’re part
of Forsyth County.”
He asked the commissioners
how much it would cost to
upgrade the road. The reply
was between $2,500 and $3,000.
How to get
a better job
(without \
quitting. )
It may take no longer to find that better job than it does to
take the Dale Carnegie Course. Dale Carnegie training
may help you get a better position right where you are.
One thing is certain. Dale Carnegie training will help
you grow as a person. You will be able to express yourself
better. Your ability to win confidence of others will im
prove. So will your ability to think things through, come to
decisions, present them, and get them carried out.
These abilities give a person the confidence and
capacity to do and say the right thing whether he is
working with people or with abstract situations. And that
is what management wants and needs from the men and
women it pays well to handle responsibility.
If you want a better job, find out more about Dale
Carnegie training and the many ways it can help you, as it
has helped more than one and one-half million other
people.

“I resented the fact that my
neighbors offered to pitch in
and get up the money to have
something done out there. But,
that’s a county road and it’s
not our responsibility to keep
it passable,” Thompson told
the board.
Commissioner Lawton
Sosebee made a motion that
something to be done to get the
road in passable condition.
Thompson questioned the
motion and said, “We don’t
want it just graded again.
That makes it worse. That
will hinder instead of help.”
A vote was taken and the
motion passed to do something
about the condition of Pilgrim
Mill Circle.

governmental, administrative
and public safety affairs of
Forsyth County.
Just last month the Board of
Commissioners approved an
option for 7.69 acres for a
potential courthouse site. The
site is located on a tract of
land between Cumming
Supply Co. and Mr. Swiss
Restaurant on U.S. 19. The
option cost the county sl.
The acquiring of the option
was preceded by lengthy
discussion around the com

At that time the com
missioners hired an architect
and took preliminary steps
toward building the new
courthouse. During that
particular meeting, Com
