THE JESUS KIDS-This religious-folk music group will appear at Cumming
United Methodist Church at 8 p.m. Sunday evening. From Lexington, Ky., their
average age is only 16. Ihey believe that the love of Jesus Christ, the son of the
living God, can be effectively transmitted through the music of today. They
specialize in going out into the world and spreading the gospel. A five-piece
instrumental ensemble travels with them. During the summers of 1972-73 they
performed at shopping centers, nursing homes and children’s hospitals. Ihey
raised $3,500 to pay their way to northern Ohio on two mission tours, and while
there taught migrant children in summer Bible School. They carry their own
sound equipment and instruments, and do all the setting up themselves. A

Dumpty Humpty
“Humpty Dumpty sat on a

Humpty Dumpty had a
great fall.

Couldn’t put Humpty

Almost every child in
America has learned that
little Nursery Rhyme. In some
ways it describes many of the
children who grew up knowing
it. You have known persons or
perhaps you have experienced
yourself, being in pieces.
Being angry and not knowing:
what to do, or the feeling that
you had no control over your
circumstances, a sudden
illness, or family problems, all
tend to drive us to pieces of
chaos.

I Will Build My Church
On This Absolute Truth
W.R. CALLAWAY
When Simon Peter con
fessed that, “Thou art the
Christ, the Son of the living
God.” Jesus said in sub
stances; the Spirit of the
Heavenly Father revealed this
unto you. Upon this eternal
and absolute truth I will build
His church upon this eternal
truth.
Through the centuries
various ideas have been added
and subtracted and at times
unfaithful pretenders have led
many astray, who still call
themselves the church. Out of
these various organized
groups comes the real church.
All the true followers of
Jesus Christ make up His
Church. Let us not think of the
church as an outward
organization or organizations;
Jesus didn’t think of it that;
way at all. The right idea is
expressed well by Paul in Col.
1:18. “All the elect of God, of
what nation soever, from the
beginning to the end of the
world, who make but one
body, whereof Jesus Christ is
the Head?” One Lord, one
faith, one baptism, one God
and Father of all, who is above
all, and in you all. Eph. 4:5-6.
(He is writing to the local
church at Ephesus).
As much as we may
disapprove of the apostate
church, of the hypocrisies, and
false ideas that have been
added by many organized
groups, we must be faithful to
the Real church. The church
that Jesus Christ, himself
established by his sacrificial
death and resurrection and by
this statement that be made to
Simon Peter.
We’ll help yon
get to college
or
into a great job.
