TAX TIPS
IPA - If you or your spouse are not covered by a retirement plan through
your employer, you are entitled to set up a savings account for this purpose
and deduct the amount contributed from your taxable income. You can take
advantage of this deduction for 1979 until the 16th of April, 1980. It works
out to be quite a savings in tax dollars.
Income Averaging - If your combined income for one year is considerably
more than any of the previous four years, you may qualify for income
averaging. It is a different way of computing your tax and could save you a
lot of money.
