Jan. 26, 1980 at Liberty Bap
tist Church in Dawsonville.
The bride is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Charles T.
Pugh, Rt. 4, Dawsonville and
the groom is the son of Rev.
and Mrs. Harold E. Thomp
son of Gainesville.
Rev. Hoyt Thompson, Rev.
V.B. Vaughan, grandfathers
of the groom, and Rev. J.L.
Chastain, grandfather of the
bride, performed the
ceremony.
A program of wedding
music was presented by
Teresa Bennett, organist,
Vicki Smith, soloist, and
Lisa Disharoon, flautist.
The bride was given in
marriage by her mother and
father.
Her sentimental items in
cluded the ringbearer’s
pillow, made from the
bride’s baby pillow; a dia
mond necklace, gift of the
groom; the veil belonging to
Joy Chamlee, the groom’s
sister; and a lace handker
chief carried by the bride’s
mother and sister on their
wedding days.
Mrs. Connie Charles, the
bride’s sister of Jackson
ville, N.C., served as matron
of honor. Bridesmaids were
Kay Pugh, the bride’s sister
of Dawsonville; Mrs. Joy

Gainesville, brother of the
groom; Randall Chamlee of

groom; and Tim Pilcher and
Richard Thomas, both of
Gainesville.
A rehearsal dinner was
given by the groom’s parents
at Jack’s Restaurant in
Cumming on the eve of the
ceremony.
Following the ceremony,
the bride’s parents were
hosts at a reception at the
church fellowship hall.
Assisting at the reception
were Lynn Townley, Patty
Barrett, Joann Disharoon,
Dawsonville, all cousins of
the bride; Susanne Poe,
Doraville, cousin of the
bride; Karen Jenkins,
Dawsonville; and Carolyn
Thomas, Gainesville.
Mrs. Sandra Vaughan of
Cumming kept the bride’s
book and wedding scrolls
were handed out by Hayley
Pirkle.
