Holiday Workshops
Are Offered By Park
The Cununing Recreation
and Parks Department is of
fering a series of holiday
workshops during the first
week of December at the Ki
wanis building in Cumming.
Instructor for the
workshops is Jackie Collins,
who has led the park-spon
sored workshops for the past

The Cumming Recreation
and Parks Department will
hold registration for 1980-81
Forsyth County Youth Bas
ketball Saturday, Dec. 6’
and Saturday, Dec. 13.
The cost will be $8 per per
son. (There is an additional
$5 if insurance is desired.)
The fee includes a team tee
shirt, supplies and entry fees
to all tournaments.
Those signing up should
come prepared to practice
on the registration dates.
Practice times are as fol
lows: Fifth and sixth grad
ers, 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.;
third and fourth graders,
10:30 a.m. to 12 noon; first
and second graders, 12 noon
to 1:30 p.m.
Registration forms with
all the information will be
handed out at all elementary
schools.
Men’s League
Season Opens
The Forsyth County Men’s
Basketball League season
opened Wednesday, Nov. 12.
Chestatee Home and Gar
den defeated Macks 80 to 52.
Jocks took Midway Builders
Supply 85 to 45. And the
Bank of Cumming downed
Stricks 70 to 65.
Games are being held at
Otwell Middle School gym
every Wednesday night until
February 11. Game times
are6:3op.m. andß:3o p.m.
Benefit Sing
Set Nov. 22
There will be a benefit
singing for Mrs. R.T. Voyles
at Sweet Water Baptist
Church in Dawsonville on
Nov. 22 at 7 p.m.
Several well known sing
ing groups will be present.

Lanier Baptist Church will
have a singing Sunday,
Nov. 23, at 7 p.m.
Guest singers will be the
Homeland Boys.
All are invited to attend.

conference at Sharon Bap
tist Church from Thursday,
Nov. 20 to Sunday, Nov. 23 at
7:30 p.m. nightly.

Singing Set
Singing will be held at
New Harmony Baptist
Church on Sunday, Nov. 23,
at 7 p.m.

Retired Teachers
Group Sets Meet
The Forsyth County Re
tired Teachers Association
will meet Friday, Nov. 21, at
3 p.m. in the community
room of the county court
house.
Dr. J.C. Mullis, executive
secretary for the Georgia
Retired Teachers Associa
tion, will be the guest
speaker.
All retired teachers in
Forsyth County are invited
to attend.

materials as well as items
found around the house.
The workshop will include
table, door and wall decora
tions, gifts, centerpieces,
etc. with some ideas adapta
ble for various holidays or
seasons. Most of the ideas

to 11 a.m. and Dec. 2 and 4
from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Chil
dren’s workshops will be
held Friday, Dec. 5, from 3
p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday,
Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. to 12
noon.
There is a registration fee
of $7.50 for adults no sup
plies included. The registra
tion fee for children is $lO
supplies included.
Registration may be

reation Department, P.O.
Box 34. Fees must be paid in
advance. Applicants will be
accepted on a first come
first served basis.
