United In Marriage
Pamela Joan Murray and
Patrick Lee Ponder were
united in marriage on Satur
day, May 23, at the First
Presbyterian Church in Gai
nesville.
The bride is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E.
Murray of Gainesville. The
groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. James H. Ponder, also
of Gainesville.
The Rev. Don Hubbard
performed the ceremony.
Wedding music was pre
sented by Charles Johnson,
organist.
The bride was given in
marriage by her father. Her
sentimental items included a
gold heirloom “L” pin worn
by her maternal great
grandmother and borrowed
from her Aunt Louella
Dykes, a blue garter and a
sixpence.
Pam Wolfe Duke of Ve
rona, Va. served as matron
of honor. Bonnie McLean of
Cumming and Jean Howard
of Athens served as brides
maids.

cousins of the bride.
A reception was held fol
lowing the ceremony at the
Chattahoochee Country Club
in Gainesville. Assisting
were Nell Ponder and Pat
Hart. Louella Dykes kept the
bride’s book.
A rehearsal dinner, hosted
by the groom’s parents, was
held at the Chattahoochee
Country Club the day before
the ceremony.
The bride’s grandparents
are Col. and Mrs. Bayard
Johnson of Indian Rocks
Beach, Fla. Grandparents of
the groom are Mrs. J.O. Pon
der and Mr. and Mrs. Newell
D. Cochran of Waleska.
Following a wedding trip
to Gatlinburg, Term., the
couple will make their home
in Gainesville.
