From Dawson County, School Super

his small county not be divided between

Swiss Air, though, was probably a
product of what "Charlie’s World" au
thors Brewster Gaines and Fran Fos
sett call the “gentler side of Charlie’s
world." They write that this part of his
nature “was patterned after his
mother, who gave him a deep love for
the beauty of God’s creation.”
Mr. Charlie was never selfish with
the beauty he created at Swiss Air; he
enjoyed sharing his floral world.
Through the years, the garden has been
a favorite place for church groups,
senior citizen groups and garden clubs
to visit. ,
Today, Mr. Charlie’s children and
grandchildren pretty much carry on
that tradition.
Recently, looking around her at the
Swiss Air's magnificent blooms, Martha
Waldrip said, “It’s sort of a monument
to Mr. Charlie. A good memory of a
wonderful person.”
Besides the brief flurry over McCas
kill, about the only controversy arose
when Alma Bowen of the League of
Women Voters said her group believed
some one else besides the legislature
should reapportion the General Assem
bly. For the General Assembly to reap
portion itself would be “an inherent
conflict of interest,” she said. Further,
districts should be equal in population
and multi-member districts and at
large elections should be abolished.
One of the assembled legislators
asked her who could do the job who was
more responsive to the voters than the
General Assembly itself.

blue print copier. Another bid of $1,695
was rejected because storage cabinets
and accessories would have added
about S6OO to the price and because the
commissioners believed the winning
machine met their needs more closely.
Appointed Commissioner Donald
Glover to recommend an air condi

ing title to any lots in Bar
berry Hill Subdivision now
owned by the Defendant
(Heard Investment) and
from authorizing and allow
ing additional tap-on to and
increased utilization of the
community water system of

The suit alledges Heard
Investment “promised to
provide and maintain a com
munity water system for
Barberry Hills Subdivision
and to provide each of the
property owners in Barberry
Hills Subdivision a safe and
adequate water supply.”
The law suit alledges
further, “Defendant Heard
Investment, Inc., is cur
rently in violation of the
rules and regulations of the
Georgia Department of Nat
ural Resources, Environ
mental Protection Division
regarding Rules for Safe
Drinking Water.”
The property owners also
