Before adopting a “kitty”’
the local humane society
suggests that persons weigh
a few considerations.
Since the society should
have plenty of kittens
throughout June, anyone
wishing to adopt can usually
have the pick of the litter.
Kittens, though, might not be
for everyone a cat might
be more suitable.
Persons who work long
hours might prefer an adult
cat that is not as demanding
as a kitten. All age cats,
though, like affection and
attention on a regular basis.
Kittens need more of a
guiding hand and are a bit
more demanding, looking for
four feedings a day, for ex
ample. Cats, on th.e other
hand, call for food once or

twice a day.
Before persons adopt a cat
or kitten, they might also
want to run it by other fam
ily members. If there are
children at home, they
should be given a short
course in kitty care. They
should understand htat their
new pet is more than just a
pretty piece of fluff.
With school out for the
summer, now is a partic
ulary good time for kids to
develop a relationship with a
new feline family member.
Persons who already have
another animal can expect a
few petty differences when
the cat or kitten comes
home. Dogs and cats may
fight purely out of instinct at
first, but they should find
common ground after a
while. If you have fish or
birds, the cat should only be
allowed to admire them
from afar.
Two-cat families are pre
tty popular these days be
cause cats generally like the
companionship of their own
kind.
The Forsyth County Hu
mane Society makes every
effort to see that prospective
cat adoptees are in healthy
condition and are matched'
up with suitable human part
ners. “What we look for most
are people with a real feeling
for animals,” said Ms. Sin
gleton.
The Humane Society may
be contacted at 887-6480.
To help first-time feline
owners have the right infor
mation on how to care for
their pets, the society will be
offering free adoption kits,
donated by Nine-Lives Nine-
Lives and Morris the Cat.
All those who adopt a cat
during June will receive a
“graduation” gift package,
including an official “pet de
gree,” a Morris Method book
of cat care, letters and a
“paw-to-graph” from Morris
and free Nine-Lives Cat

1. Walk-behind models mow, vacuum, bag, and with inexpensive accessories, will mulch cuttings and shred leaves. 2 All models deliver a smooth, professional cut, even
during tough conditions. They also cut fast because of the efficient transfer of power from their engines. 3. Large capacity grass catchers need emptying less frequently
especially those with the 30 bushel Bag-N-Wagon. 4. The floating cutting unit on riders minimizes scalping and damage to the mower. 5. A wide selection of mowing
speeds and no loss of cutting power gives flexibility for varying lawn conditions. Before you buy a mower, compare the quality and performance features of a SNAPPER.
You'll find SNAPPER is worth more because it does more. And its price is competitive with other quality mowers.

And Remember This . . . Every SNAPPER Mower is made to the same exacting standards. There
is no such thing as a lower quality or bottom-of-the-line cutrate model. The only differences
between the various SNAPPER models are the horsepower of the engines, the width of the
cutting units, and the choice of recoil or electric starting. That's all! The mowers themselves are
the same in every other respect. You get the very best quality and features whichever model
