Probe Fair
Will Be Oct. 13
One of 40 statewide Probe
Fairs providing high school
students and their parents
with reliable and up-to-date
information about universi
ties, colleges, vocational
technical schools and nurs
ing schools will be held at
Lakeshore Mall in Gaines
ville on Oct. 13. The three
hour fair will begin at 5 p.m.
Probe is the name of the
organized tour which at
tracts admissions counselors
from over 200 U.S. non-profit
educational institutions to
shopping malls and high
schools all around Georgia.
The typical Probe Fair
features three hours of infor
mal browsing among an ar
rangement of brochure-filled
tables. School and college
representatives staff each
table to discuss costs,
courses, scholarships, cam
pus life, admissions and
other aspects of post-second
ary education at their
schools.
Jude Children’s Research
Hospital, a hospital whose
workers are dedicated to lo
cating a cure for and treat
ing children’s diseases.
St. Jude’s is a non-profit
organization.
Last year, 34,000 high
school students attended one
of the Probe Fairs. The stu
dents talked with represen
tatives from 205 private and
public colleges and universi
ties, diploma schools of nurs
ing, vocational-technical
schools and military acade
mies.
Over 95 Georgia institu
tions are expected to partici
pate in the fairs from
September through Novem

dred post-secondary
institutions from out-of-state
will participate also.
Now in its eleventh year,
Probe is coordinated by the
Georgia Education Articula
tion Committee, a group
sponsored by most second
ary and post-secondary edu
cational associations in
Georgia.
