Q: What’s the best type of
wood to use for firewood?
A: There are several ways
you can judge firewood; how
much heat does it put out,
does it burn easily, does it
split easily, does it have
heavy smoke? What sur

some pines, gums, and elms
are as good for stove fires as
the traditional oak and hick

Q: Is it really important to

burning it?
