The Masters Invitational
Clogging Hoedown, featur
ing 20 expert clogging
groups from throughout the
state, is set for Oct. 2 in the
Presentation Point pavilion
at Lake Lanier Islands from
3:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Featured in the event will
be the Jeffersonian
Newcomers’
Coffee To Be
Held Oct. 15
The October coffee of the
Forsyth County Newcomers
Club will be hosted by Nancy
Nudo at her Cedar Knoll
Drive home in Gainesville.
At the 10 a.m. meeting on
Oct. 15, all bazaar items
must be turned in, according
to June Willcox, club presi
dent.
All new residents of For
syth County are welcomed to
attend. For more informa

$34,000 Raised For Research
Four hundred and fifty
people attended the third an
nual Midtown Hoedown at
Colony Square which was a
benefit for the Cystic Fibro
sis Foundation.
The event raised $34,000
which will be used to further
programs of research, pub
lic and professional educa
tion and patient care.
Cherokee Heritage
Seminar Is Oct. 2nd
The Cherokee Heritage
Seminar will be held on Sat
urday, Oct. 2, from 9 a.m. to
4 p.m., at the Alpharetta
Masonic Lodge.
Speakers will be Ike
Boyette, Jennifer Ferguson
and James Puckett.
Topics to be discussed are
history, legends, artifacts,
culture and tracing ances
try.

quired at the Islands gate
and includes use of piers and
boat ramps, playgrounds
and picnic facilities.

$3,025 from Oliver Welch of
Atlanta. A trip to Steamboat
Springs was won by Robert

ery, the bride wore a white
dress with a fitted bodice of
Alencon lace with tapered
sleeves of lace. The floor
length skirt was of organza
and was accented with a
scalloped hemline with
pearls and sequins adorning
the gown. The bride also
wore a small-brimmed hat
covered in Alencon lace with
a finger-tip veil attached to
the back of the hat in a bow.
She carried a bouquet of
white roses accented with
sweet peas and baby’s
breath.
The maid of honor was
