District Realignment Introduced In House
A bill to realign the five
districts from which Forsyth
County’s board of commis
sioners and board of educa
tion are elected was
introduced Friday in the
Georgia House by District 10
Rep. Bill Barnett, of Cum
ming.
Changes in the districts
will not affect the schools
which children in Forsyth
County attend. The main
purpose of the districts is to
allow a candidate to know
what county commission or
school board post he/she
should seek at election time.
Barnett said the ideal pop
ulation for each of the dis
tricts would have been 5,592.
Some of the districts, how

small, it has grown into an
international organization.
The company now has a
small operation in London,
and is working on an
agreement with a company

“As the company grew we
had to start renting additio

Kenco was forced to spread
out into four Chicago-area
buildings and, at that point,
a new site was desperately
needed.
Barry and his wife began
looking at new sites in
Denver, Wichita, Omaha,
Minneapolis and Dallas.
A weekend visit brought
the couple to Atlanta, which
soon surpassed Dallas as the
number one prospect on the
list. Within about two to
three weeks, Barry says, he
and his wife were back in
Atlanta. Aided by the
Georgia Department of In
dustry and Trade, Barry and
his wife looked at sites in
Gwinnett, Forsyth, Cobb and
Fulton counties, before set
tling on Forsyth.
Following the decision to
locate here, Kenco’s insurer,
Liberty Mutual, aided the
company in designing the
plant.
