Sawnee Mountain Church of God
will hold revival Wednesday, Oct. 10
through Sunday, Oct. 14.
Services will begin at 7:30 p.m.

p.m. at Sawnee Elementary School.
Items for sale will include crafts,
baked goods, appliances, clothes, hot
dogs and hamburgers. The public is
invited to attend.
BENEFIT SINGING
There will be a benefit singing at
Mount Calvary Baptist church Satur
day, Oct. 13, at 7:30 p.m. featuring
the “Gospel Echoes” and the Phillips
Family.
The church is located on Georgia
*4l, two miles south of Georgia 400.
Proceeds from the singing will go
toward the payment of hospital ex
penses for Dale Clark and Sidney
Norwood. The public is invited to
attend.
COOKBOOKS ON SALE
J The ladies auxiliary of Sawnee
Mountain Church of God is selling
pookbooks to help pay for a new
church building.
The books are on sale through Octo
ber, and may be purchased at Ra
mey’s Department Store, or from
{nembers of the auxiliary.

‘COUNTRY ROAD FESTIVAL’
New Bridge Baptist Church of Gai
nesville will hold its annual “Country
Road Festival” Saturday, Oct. 13,
from dawn to dusk.
Items for sale will include barbe
cued chicken plates, brunswick stew,
homemade ham and sausage biscuits
and homemade crafts.
All proceeds will be deposited into a
building fund for construction of a
new church sanctuary.
The church is located on U.S. 129,
one mile north of the Georgia State
Patrol post. For more information,

FLU VACCINES HERE
The F orsyth County Health Depart
ment has announced it has flu vac
cines available for anyone over age 65
or for anyone who is a high risk
factor.
The shots are given on Tuesdays
from 9 to 11 a.m. and from 1 to 4 p.m.
and cost $4 each.
PRE-CHRISTMAS SALE

The Forsyth County Hospital Auxil
iary will hold its pre-Christmas sale
on Thursday, Oct. 25, in the gift shop
at the hospital.
The sale will be held from 9 a.m. to
3 p.m. and will feature handmade
Christmas items as well as regular
Christmas merchandise, a spokes
man said.

A proclamation designating obser
vance of the week in Cumming was
signed Saturday by Mayor Ford
Gravitt.
The local Business and Profes
sional Women’s Club will hold a ban
quet during the week in which the
“Woman of the Year” will be named.
In the past, the honor has gone to
people like Betty Benson, with the
Forsyth County School System, and
Ann Gibson, community representa
tive for Martin Marietta Aggregates.
Nominations for “Woman of the
Year” were solicited by the club from
civic groups and local businesses.
