Deaths
Patricia Basusta
Memorial services were held for
Patricia Basusta, 42, of Cornelia
Route 1, Monday, Oct. 7, 1985, at 2
p.m. at Cornelia United Methodist
Church. Interment was in Yonah Me
morial Gardens.
Ms. Basusta died Saturday, Oct. 5,
1985, at the Habersham County Medi
cal Center where she was employed.
She is a member of the Cornelia
United Methodist Church.
She is survived locally by her fa
ther, B.M. Crane of Cumming; her
mother, Alva Crane of Atlanta; and a
brother, John Crane of Brooks, Ga.

Bessie Martin
Funeral services were held Tues
day, Oct. 8, 1985, at 3 p.m. at the
chapel of Ingram Funeral Home for
Miss Bessie Martin, 81, of Dawson
ville Route 5.
The Rev. J.C. Nix officiated the
service for Mrs. Martin who died
Sunday evening, Oct. 6, 1985. Inter
ment was held in Sawnee View Gar
dens.
Surviving Mrs. Martin is a brother,
Sam Martin of Dawsonville; two
nieces, Mrs. Sheila Herron of Cum
ming, and Mrs. Gwen Brown of Snel
lville; and a number of other
relatives.

Funeral services were held Tues
day, Oct. 8, 1985, at 2 p.m. at the
Corinth Baptist Church for Greenville
Tilman Nichols, 87, of Cumming
route 10.
The Rev. Carrel Pruitt and the Rev.
Bobby Joe Frady officiated the serv
ice for Mr. Nichols who died Sunday,
Oct. 6,1985. Interment was held in the
church cemetery.
Surviving Mr. Nichols is his wife,
Mrs. Geneva Agnes (Fowler) Nich
ols; children, Osco Nichols, Melvin
Nichols, Mrs. Dorothy Bennett, Rob
ert Nichols, Eugene Nichols, Demar
Nichols, Jimmy Nichols, Marvin Jett
and Fred Jett, all of Cumming; Elco
Nichols of Dalton; Mrs. Leona Gaza
way of Suwanee; Mrs. Imogene Eu
banks of Buford; Mrs. Willene
Picklesimer of Auburn; Mrs. Mary
Jo Allen of Snellville; and Clyde
Nichols of Dacula; 41 grandchildren;
29 great-grandchildren; brothers,
Vanus Nichols of Suwanee and Cletus
Nichols of Dawsonville; sisters, Mrs.
Mae Simonds of Burnt Mountain;
Mrs. Margie Frady of Suwan Mrs. Ila
Mae Shoemake of Cumming; and a
number of nieces and nephews.
Ingram Funeral Home of Cumming
was in charge of arrangements.

Waste management workshop is scheduled
Information on current waste man
agement practices and management
options will be presented in a
workshop to be held in Gainesville at
the Georgia Mountains Center
Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m.
The Hazardous Waste Public Infor
Ninth district school boards
will meet in Fannin County
District 9 of the Georgia School
Boards Association will hold its an
nual meeting Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 6:30
p.m. at the Fannin County Co rehen
sive High School in Blue Ridge.
Clinton Howard, District 9 director
and a member of the Hall County
Board of Education, will preside over
the meeting.
Dr. Charles McDaniel, State Super
intendent of Schools, will be the fea
tured speaker. Dr. McDaniel will e
hasize the i lementat of the Quality
Basic Education Act on the local
level. Also, he will provide an update
on the activities of the State Board of
Education and the Georgia Depart
ment of Education regarding this
historic law. Local members of the
General Assembly are invited to at
tend this timely and informative
meeting.
